I've never looked after my skin before and need to start. Can anyone help me with a beginners shopping list for sensitive skin?

I'm getting married and hitting 30 this year so thought it was about time I grew up and started taking care of my skin! I have no skin care routine at all so need some budget friendly essentials to get me started.

I have super sensitive, dry skin and have suffered from eczema all my life. Years of hyrocortisone use have caused Seborrhoeic dermatitis around my eyes, nose and mouth. I've just started a two month course of antibiotics to sort this out.

A friend pointed me in the direction of Caroline Hirrons blog but I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the different steps she recommends. Help!

I'm allergic to something in cosmetics and rosacea/perioral prone and I don't recommend Clinique. I developed lots of sensitivities and ended up damaging my skin after I started 'taking better care of my skin'. Listen to people here, try to find a minimal routine and avoid overdoing it with products. Your skin might actually prefer being left alone Wink

I'm totally allergic to Clinique! Agree Frugal it's best not to overdo the products, especially when you're trying to find a new one. I went through a phase of trying out lots of new things and my skin was eventually sensitised to everything I put on it. Gradual introduction of one new thing at a time, and using it consistently for a few weeks, is key.

I react to all boots skincare and Simple products.I have only ever reacted once to a Clinique product.I find Clinique really gentle on my skin.Maybe its because although I do have really reactive psoriasis prone skin its also still a bit oily (even at 49).

Even clarins for sensitive skin is mega harsh. I can tolerate the night cream but nothing else.

I am using Aldi youth restore atm which is fantastic and a for clarins but nicer and gentler.

Aloe range from the body shop is good and Liz Earle is good too. Superdrug do their own version called natural radiance which is almost identical.

It's not pretty but allergenics cream is amazing stuff.
