Going grey grey-cefully... is there a sort of clear 'gloss' rather than hair dye to give hair some oomph?

Or am i imagining this?

Rather than resorting to dye, now there is no dye in my hair it is a bit less vivid in its colour.

However there are an increasing number of greys in there, and rather dye it again and have increasingly obvious roots, I'm happy to leave it and go grey.

But, since the colour is a bit less vivid, is there something like a gloss, rather than dye, that improves the look of your hair?

Or have I dreamt it after a cheese fest??

Have you looked at John Freida luminous colour glaze? I use it for blonde, but you can get clear aqs well.

Aveda dyes are very conditioning but do fuck all to cover grey, so that might be an option?

JoyceDivision · 29/01/2014 22:38

What about a clear gloss glaze like this one in Boots? Like a semi perm dye except it's clear.

Phyto also do a really good gloss that lasts quite well. I use the chestnut one, but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a clear one as well. Smile

I have started using Touch of Silver shampoo and conditioner to keep the greys bright. Not too bad but I also use wax or gel which gives a sheen (v. short haircut).

My hairdresser offers one; I'm sure it exists

A toner will help with this. Just don't leave them on for too long or use too often

  • bloody fat fingers on iPhone Or you will end up with a purple rinse Grin
