Dd is very into make up she's going to be 12 soon and I'd love to take her to a counter that could do her make up and then she could buy a few bits.

She likes very natural make up she saved her pocket money up and got the naked basics set and is now saving for naked 3.

Any recommendations please

Spottymoo I have to agree with the others I am afraid. I too have a daughter the same age. She will sneak on a bit of my mascara every now and then and she does have some lip gloss etc. A lesson on makeup is a long way off, and really its not something I would even have considered for a number of years yet.

Could you not rather focus of skincare at this point in time, get her a nice cleanser, toner, moisturizer which you could get from one of the counters... but then this is going to be a more pricy brand, and you may be lighter in the pocket as they don't last that long.

It is a lovely idea though, I think I will keep that in mind for my dd in a few years time.

teta, I have a dd who has just turned 13. No way would I take her to a make up counter. She's 13,she's naturally beautiful, there's no need.

I have two DDs 15 and 16, at 12 or 13 ( can't remember which) all their friends were slapping on thick make-up, which just made them look old and orange before their time. I bought them the teen Bobby Brown book and booked a teen beauty session at the counter. They showed them how to conceal spots ( rather than plastering on the hide-the-blemish) and gave them some natural tips as well as a few ideas for parties. They loved it! Happy birthday to your dd.

Ihatemytoes.I didn't.It was a present from my sister.I would never have thought of it,as we live in the sticks and the nearest Bobby Brown counter is over an hour away. But in retrospect it was the right thing to do, as she was actually taught how to apply make up properly. It actually was a perfectly age appropriate make over contrary to what everyone is saying here. She is far less make up obsessed than her friends now .
