Best moisturiser for 40+ skin

Ok, am wrong side of 40 now but so far, my skin looks reasonably ok. A few wrinkles starting but nothing too major.

Are there any moisturisers that will really look after my skin and prevent wrinkles? Or is that just a myth? I think I read somewhere that all skin damage is done in your twenties.

I've always tried to keep out of the sun and use an SPF.

My skin is quite dry, what would you recommend?

I think the Neal's yard Francincense range is great for drier skin. I'm the same age as you but have quite oily skin and haven't quite found my perfect moisturiser yet.

Frankincense even!

I've been using Elizabeth Earle at night-time and a Cowshed one in the day. Just wondered what else is out there to try.

Where does the OP mention her nose?

PoshPaula · 29/01/2014 09:25

Learn to love your nose, OP, surgery is not necessary (Joke).

And you are not the WRONG side of 40. I've been here for a while and I am loving my forties! (yes really!).

I used Clinique for years and now use Olay, which I find to be every bit as good if not better. The Day and the Night creams, the basic ones, keep my skin in very good nick.

I knew a saleslady who works with wholesale ingredients for cosmetics industry. She said the only thing other than Botox and fillers that was clinically proven to reduce wrinkles was strivectin.

I use that, but I love the way eve lom absorbs and plumps up my skin (so it looks like it reduce wrinkles even though it really doesn't). They have the reg creme and then the extra moisturising/intense one that my dry-skin mum swears by.

I buy the lighter one and add a drop of seaberry oil to moisturiser where I need it (damn you leathery looking neck). Saves money in long run than buying 2 different lotions.

I use loads of different stuff but I recommend you have a look over at Beautypedia.com once you have some suggestions and read up on the different brands.
