I've saved up loads of Boots points and would like to buy a really good cleanser, moisturiser and eye cream but have no idea where to start.

I have normal to dry skin but have little horrible blackhead things on my nose which will not bloody go away. I have the beginnings of eye wrinkles which if I could nip in the bud now I would be delighted.

Should I go for hot cloth cleanser things? Estee Lauder? Or is it all a con and should I just buy cheapo stuff and drink loads of water?!

I use their Botanics range of cleansers/toner/scrubs/masks and use no7 protect & perfect eye cream and moisturisers. I had blackheads on my nose and big pores but since using the Botanics cleanser and toner my skin seems to have got a lot better and more even.

Rummikub · 28/01/2014 22:17

I like the boots no 7 protect & perfect eye serum. Feels lovely and I think it's helping.

MostlyCake · 28/01/2014 23:11

Interesting....i was half expecting recommendations for £50 moisturiser but these are affordable!

I'm sure people used to go on about la Roche posay on here? Not tried it myself though

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 28/01/2014 23:51

Those peel of biore strips are brilliant for blackheads and extremely satisfying to use.

Rummikub · 28/01/2014 23:56

I buy when it's 3 for 2, makes it even better value.

I have tried clarins eye cream, paid lots and didnt like it. V disappointed. Elemis (freebie), didnt like the over powering smell!

Moisturiser you may need to play around with. E45 I have used regularly. Clinique moisture surge is lovely. I like stroking my cheek after I use it Blush

KatoPotato · 29/01/2014 00:00

The neutrogena range which includes the visibly clear stuff is 2 for £5 just now. I actually now use this instead of Clinique! The moisturiser is fab as is the daily scrub and the watery stuff (!)

KatoPotato · 29/01/2014 00:01

In boots I mean

RonaldMcDonald · 29/01/2014 00:45

Only thing good for blackheads is a bha
Neutropenia 3 in 1 stress control hydrating moisturiser is a brilliant bha and will sort out your blackheads in no time at all

Olay sensitive daily wash cloths are excellent as is the regenerist fragrance free serum
All at boots and excellent. Ignore the cost, these are effective products.

RonaldMcDonald · 29/01/2014 00:46

Neutropenia? Wtaf?

ItsaMissTerri · 29/01/2014 00:58

I'd recommend REN...the evercalm moisturiser is good for my dry skin, their omega 3 serum is lovely and the cleansing balm is good (i just use normal flannel don't bother with buying special muslin cloths etc). I also get those blackheads but have found the ren clarifying toning lotion is pretty effective

ItsaMissTerri · 29/01/2014 01:08

Oops sorry OP..just realised Ren is sold at M&S not Boots Blush

Allthingsprettyreturns · 29/01/2014 07:11

Liz earle cleanse and polish if your branch sells it

minibmw2010 · 29/01/2014 07:27

Sanctuary do several great ranges. I use the blue one and they're sold at Boots. They also do eye creams and serums.

Bexicles · 29/01/2014 11:12

I love the Avene range.

luvfizz · 29/01/2014 12:05

La Roche Posay is brilliant stuff and recommended by dermatologists. I've just started using it and am so pleased.

Cleanser www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=866273

Moisturiser : Hyrdaphase Intense Rich cream

Read Dr Sam Buntings blog to find your perfect match and try an AHA or BHA for the blackheads on your nose.

Saurus72 · 29/01/2014 15:34

Totally agree with luvfizz, La Roche Posay is absolutely brilliant. I have spotty hormonal skin which LRP's Effaclar range has transformed. Can't recommend highly enough.

RyanGoslingsMissus · 29/01/2014 15:54

Nivea.

My sister is a cosmetic nurse. All the surgeons she works with recommend using Nivea as basic skin care & cleanser as it's apparently the best for cleaning and wrinkles and as a healing cream post surgery for scars. I use it myself and have done for years. Apparently so does Joan Collins :))

squoosh · 29/01/2014 15:57

La Roche Posay, Una Brennan, Eucerin, Avene, Clarins.

All good skincare lines available in Boots.

MostlyCake · 29/01/2014 19:14

Thanks very much all! I'm going to try to get some samples to try before shelling out...has taken me years to save up all these points and I don't want to waste them!

If the thread us still live once I get to Boots and try all my samples (fingers crossed!) I'll report back Smile
