Stubborn red hair dye?

So I had the brilliant idea of going back to blonde after being dark red for a few months.

For three weeks now I've been a very irritating shade of peach. I've bleached it gently 3 times (don't want to completely destroy my hair, although it is feeling like its in much better condition nowConfused) and I just can't get rid of all the red.

Does anyone know the best way to get rid of it at home? I really don't have the money to go to a hairdressers so was hoping there's some clever trick I can do myself.

Ooh not heard of that before. I have a pot of vitamin c tablets so I'll give it a try after work tonight!Smile

I was bright red for a couple of years and wanted to back to my natural light brown colour. I ended up buying ColourB4 from Boots which strips the colour out but left my hair in really good condition. As you've bleached it I'm not 100% sure if this would work for you but it's worth looking at. There's loads of reviews on boots website with hints and tips etc. It's a lengthy process but worked very well for me and saved me a fortune as I didn't need to go to the hairdressers!

So after the vitamin C thing it's definitely more golden.

Will bear in mind a colour stripper for next time I do something stupid like think I can pull off dark red!

Still got a bit of colour to come out of it but I'm definitely blonde towards the front so it's just getting the back to catch up.

My friend said her hairdresser said Pantene shampoo strips your colour off, do you think it might be worth switching to that for a bit?

Worth a try, I don't think it's likely to go horrifically wrong as it's only shampoo! I have read that tea tree shampoo and also washing up liquid will strip dye out Smile

Running low on washing up liquid so can't try that yet haha.

Got more of that vit c mix in ATM. It's weirdly effective. I'd love to know the science behind it!

Going to use up all my dregs of shampoo and start with my Pantene then. It's big bottles as well so should do a fair bit of damage to the orangeynessWink
