Eyebrows question please

I'm exploring the MN topic categories and visiting ones not used before. Have a (probably) dumb question about eyebrows. This current trend I see young people adopting for dark, very defined brows - although sometimes with ridiculously blunt broader ends - how is this look achieved? The brows are so perfectly matched, surely it's not a question of pencilling in? I am intrigued.

Some are tattooed. Some dyed. Some pencilled or with eyeshadow

EastMids2 · 27/01/2014 22:46

Tattooed? No, really? What happens when the trend moves on and it's delicate little arches or something and you are stuck with the black chiselled look! Pencilled/eyeshadow I get, just not HOW the brows are so perfectly shaped and matching - I could never do eyeliner the same both sides or, come to think of it, both sides of hair style!

I have seen a brow stencil product. Lay template on brow, colour the shape in, same on other side, voila perfect matching brows.
Hate 'em, I like a natural look.

DrNick · 27/01/2014 22:49

Think the tattoo is not super long lasting

EastMids2 · 27/01/2014 23:06

Ah, stencils! I get that now, but what a palaver. Do you stencil over your own brows or pluck away to thin line/shave off then stencil?

Dr Nick, surely a "tattoo" is by definition permanent - or is it different to the inky body tattoos?

It's called HD brows. I have them done. It's a revelation Grin

ElBombero · 27/01/2014 23:17

YY to HD. Ring you a few salons one will do them, they will teach you everything. Benefits eyebrow palette is amazing

TessTackle · 27/01/2014 23:22

I use a shadow kit to fill in my naturally full but sparse brows.
It takes practice, and looking like a tit a few times but they're even and not drawn on looking.

goodasitgets · 27/01/2014 23:23

I have mine perfect but not that dark! They're threaded, tinted with a longer lasting tint then at home I use a brow pencil and a tinted brow gel

EastMids2 · 27/01/2014 23:46

So is HD = high definition? I'm amazed at how much attention eyebrows get or need to achieve this look! Done well, it's very flattering. However, I've noticed some of these very dark defined brows starting way too close - giving a strange impression - surely these women don't think this is a good look?

YY to Benefit - it's called Browzings and I absolutely love it, wouldn't be without it and it lasts forever so worth the money.

Mrswellyboot · 27/01/2014 23:51

I use HD brow kit foxy colour. Love it. Great pigment.

BeyonceB · 27/01/2014 23:55

Yes Eastmids, High Definition. They're dyed, plucked, waxed, threaded and measured until perfect Wink

Coumarin · 28/01/2014 00:00

A lot of the women with the close together sharpie pen look are very young. Think late teens. They'll learn. We've all done something that makes us cringe when we look knack at the photos.

Coumarin · 28/01/2014 00:00

Look back.

Although I've looked knack in a few photos too.

And what do you do with full, dark brown, wonky brows with a lovely big bushy bit at the front? I usually get them threaded which works ok but can I do this HD thing? It all seems a bit fake to me!
