Due to a tight budget for the foreseeable future, I'm looking to buy cheaper products. I really like liz earle moisturiser, Estes launder day wear and clinique dramatically different.
Can I have some recommendations for cheaper alternatives please?

I have used Clarins for 15 years but hate the price tag. Avon Renew is a fantastic range, really good quality and a fraction of the price.

RonaldMcDonald · 28/01/2014 00:41

I use this

Allthingsprettyreturns · 28/01/2014 02:56

Boots botanics much better than the origins one that i was using rhat cost a small forune

higgle · 28/01/2014 07:43

Simple, I buy their skin care stuff if I can't afford Clinique, it is very good for sensitive skin and usually on offer in one of the supermarkets at about £3 per item.

evertonmint · 28/01/2014 09:31

Superdrug Vitamin E and Instant Radiance (or Naturally Radiant - can never remember!) both really good. Vit E for drier skin - using that in winter and then the IR in summer when less dry.

dingdong3 · 28/01/2014 10:24

Another vote for Boot's Botanics. SPF 15, no parabens or chemicals. Always on 3 for 2 so I usually stock up on the hot cloth cleanser and eye cream or mask (depending on what's running low) at the same time.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/01/2014 12:05

Aldi restorative day cream is almost identical to Clarins and only 1.99.

Superdrug do a version of Liz Earle C and P and moisturiser for less than a fiver.

The body shop aloe Vera range is excellent-buy on line for half the price of the shop.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/01/2014 12:05

I buy clarins on Ebay

Khalessi · 28/01/2014 14:31

Thanks for all the recommendations!

Superdrug own-brand skincare is really fantastic now, much better than Boots imo (I did love Botanics but then they changed the range again a couple of years ago and my favourites disappeared). Botanics is not bad at all for the price, but Superdrug B. range is great and feels really high-end. The radiance balm in the Naturally Radiant range (green packaging) is a great dupe for Clarins Beauty Flash Balm btw. Try the Optimum range for anti-ageing. Oh and the Vitamin E scrub is wonderful - the scrubby bits are actually oatmeal which softens in the mixture, so it's super gentle and moisturising.

FrugalFashionista · 28/01/2014 15:21

Revlon Colorstay is the good cheap budget alternative to ELDW and their pale shade range is better

FrugalFashionista · 28/01/2014 15:23

Whoops, Colorstay is a good substitute for Doublewear but Daywear is much lighter, right? One of the lighter Bourjois products?

GeekInThePink · 28/01/2014 16:07

dame do you know the name of the superdrug liz Earle dupe moisturiser please? Thankd

LittleBabyPigsus · 28/01/2014 18:19

Geek the C&P dupe is the Vitamin E HCC (or maybe the Naturally Radiant one, there are two really) so I would imagine the moisturiser is in those ranges.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/01/2014 19:03

The vit E one is good but the one that is most like C and P imo is the naturally radiant one.

Fozzleyplum · 28/01/2014 20:36

I used Liz Earle C&P for years, until I discovered Superdrug Natural Radiance hot cloth cleanser. I use Steam Cream (following a recommendation on another thread a few weeks back) and am very impressed. I have no idea whether it's like the Clarins moisturiser, but it's better than many high-end creams I've used. It sinks in in the same way as Clinique D moisturiser does.

Missred · 28/01/2014 20:55

Muslin to clean- and I use soap these days as cleanser - and loreal revitalift. Won't deny I've been a moisturiser snob in the the past (have a half-used bottle ? of Lancôme dreamtone that I'm hoarding for summer) but was given a freebie of the loreal. Initially I thought 'not going to work' ....but I am very pleasantly surprised! It's rich, smells ok, easily absorbed and effective for my currently dry skin; I will def buy again!

midnightmoomoo · 29/01/2014 20:33

I bought a Skin Wisdom moisturiser in Tesco a few weeks ago, £3 reduced from £6....in a purple box, for 25+ skin and it's amazing!!! Doesn't irritate my sensitive skin or make it feel greasy or give me spots. I've gone and bought a couple more as buying a moisturiser is so hard. Bargain!!!

Bodicea · 30/01/2014 03:55

Dr nick Lowe is a good cheaper range day moisturiser in bouts. The day one is ok ( dont personally like the smell of night one). Number 7 do a good hot cloth cleanser which you can stock up on when the £5 vouchers are around at boots - I find their moisturisers too greasy and you won't like them if you are used to high end.
I also buy dermalogica moisturisers - love skin smoothing cream it is my old faithfull - still expensive but if you buy the 100ml and get it on line from Jersey beauty company you can get is significantly cheaper ( plus they always give you samples if you want to try new stuff) than the average beauty counter cream x

netty36 · 30/01/2014 04:39

Nivea soft, gets amazing reviews on make up alley, so I gave it a try and it's actually fab! There is a daily mail article you can google that compares the ingredients and effects I creme de la mer and nivea and I'm certain the nivea comes out tops. I've started slathering inn the nivea soft and people have commented on my skin!! I'm a real skin care snob usually so it's worth a try.

teenybash7 · 16/04/2014 18:16

Bought Nivea Soft in Home Bargains - my favourite shop! - and haven't found it since. Nearly run out so it's urgent. It's brilliant! Does anyone know where to get it?

midnightmoomoo · 16/04/2014 21:17

I bought a tub of Nivea Soft in Tescos this week!

didireallysaythat · 16/04/2014 21:30

Is there a range of Nivea that doesn't smell, like, well Nivea ? There's just something in it that doesn't agree with my nose - worse than dove for me. But I like the moisturising of Nivea.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 16/04/2014 23:36

Nivea is bogof at Tesco at the mo,I got some yesterday

Ludways · 16/04/2014 23:43

I went to a Temple Spa party a few weeks ago and got suckered into spending £64 on cleanse, tone, moisture and face pack. It's nice but I'm normally a simple girl, lol
