This is more of a summer problem I'd love to go round in vest tops but I don't like my upper arms bein seen so tend to have to add cardigans and end up boiling or year clothes from marks and sparks designed for hiding bingo wings and so aging. Any ideas??

Some other things I do in summer:

  • layered super lightweight jersey, American Vintage style. Each layer is see through on its own but not together. If it's not too tight it doesn't get too hot.
  • open knit cotton cardigans over summer dresses
  • cotton blouses / tunics

Thanks everyone for suggestions! Floisme that's exactly it my vest tops are pointless and too hot under a cardi!I like your ideas too! And whereishe I like the sound of loose knit cardi over dress and the sheer layers you mention I'm goin to look into all these ideas. I'm starting to think mumsnet has the answer to everything! x

Alibaba that is interesting - I once got some horrendous sunburn (breezy day so couldn't tell I was burning) on my upper arms (just where the KP is) and although it fucking hurt and I do have some sun damage there, the KP there was so much better for a while. I don't have any ishoos with my upper arms so I might try going sleeveless a bit more.

I've been advising my friend to wear a kimono (or light beach cover up style kimono) over any top - stylish and does the job you want it to without adding another layer/warmth

My arms are one of the few things I like about myself!!

But I would recommend going for very loose summery jackets that you can wear over vest tops, or cardigans in very thin wool.

There's no real way to cover your arms without being subsequently hot though I'm afraid :(

For a longer term solution you could try doing some arms specific toning exercises, but that wasn't what you asked about.

Hmm. You wouldn't be spamming the boards, would you, Over40? Resurrecting a zombie thread to advertise something?
