Had Kerastraight done yesterday and not impressed!

I've had Brazilian blow drys done before but I had heard that kerastraight was a better alternative and lasted a good 4-5 months.

My hair is wavy/loose curls and can be quite frizzy so my expectations were for the wave to loosen slightly and for the dreaded frizz to be banished.

I was also under the impression from the many online reviews that kerastraight is a wash in and wash out treatment so I would leave the salon with it already washed out, however my stylist said I would get a better result by leaving it in and washing much later in the day with sulphate free shampoo. I was a little annoyed as this meant I had to be careful to keep it straight all day without even tucking it behind my ears.

So last night I washed it and left it to dry naturally and what do I end up with? My normal frizzy mess! It has probably reduced the frizz by 10-20% but no more than that

Has anyone else experienced this or was I unrealistic in my expectation?
The salon is closed today but I want to ring them tomorrow and see what they say, otherwise I feel I've completely wasted £150!

Hi, Please could you share the link for the kerastraight kit that you buy from amazon.

Also, do you use a special hairdryer/ straightener after application?

I have Kerastraight done and am quite pleased with it (despite my age my hair is quite thick and can be wild and woolly!) . I used ESPA products at a spa and think these products are actually better than Kerastraight 'freebies'. I've never had to leave mine in on day of treatment - it's always washed before I leave although I can see the advantage of leaving it longer. I prefer ESPA (not cheap though) and it's free of the sodium additives (which is apparently added to make the foam - WHY? Smells MUCH better too!

seriously people like you are so ridiculous. you have zero understanding of the product, expectations or how to use it and just demand your imagined expected level of results. All hair types are different so ALL results differ. FYI there is no magical cure to instantly “fix” hair that’s just marketing from big companies selling products. The poor salon owner - you didn’t follow correct instructions or even learn about the product first and washed your hair same day - who does that! Then you go back causing a drama and putting it on them to “fix” your hair (even though you already had a 10-20% result) and demand a refund or free re service or free products. They have to live too you know! Clearly the product needs to be built up in the hair and maybe you need to continue with more teeatments but instead you demand instant results or go blasting them over social media.

@alicecoombes91 this thread is from 2014.... I think it's resolved!

maybe - I guess that means its only been 5 years that business has had someone telling everyone not to go there

[“Just to let you all know the salon is Hair Xcel in Surbiton, Surrey. Do not go there!!!“]

I wonder if thats effected jobs or closing down etc.

People write reviews, consider it resolved and walk away but this type of thing effects that business every day (and peoples jobs) and is up forever online for everyone to read and google search. It continually aims to turn business away.

I wonder how people would feel if a business could review them - but posters never use their full name do they.
