Do you like this dress?

Asos have half price on some new season dresses. I really like this Ganni dress but i don't quite know why I would want it. Is it too floaty for work, too impractical for weekends messing around with the kids?

It ticks alot of my boxes, being a pale colour (which i suit and find very hard to come across, does not have one of those horrible waists just underneath the bust that look awful on me, has sleeves and is a decent length).

Also, is it really just a bit shapeless and one of those things that looks good on a rake thin model, but no one else?

It's too big for her but has a tie you could pull in at the waist.. It could be very pretty I think.

yesyestisme · 26/01/2014 13:11

I think it looks shapeless, but the model is rake thin so could be nicer on someone who can fill it a bit more!!

yesyestisme · 26/01/2014 13:12

I don't think it looks good on the model..

derektheladyhamster · 26/01/2014 13:13

How tall are you? It could be an unflattering length (something I know well!)

BuzzardBird · 26/01/2014 13:17

I actually think it would look really nice on someone with some shape. The model used is far too slim for that style of dress.

CalamityKate · 26/01/2014 13:29

I think I probably do but the model is too skinny to make any garment look nice and for some reason is doing the "hips thrust forward, lean back and round shoulders" pose. What on earth is the purpose of that pose??

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 26/01/2014 13:37

You'll need a nice thick vest under that dear.

I think it's sweet in a wispy kind of way.

MinesAPintOfTea · 26/01/2014 13:42

If it was my type if thing I'd wear it to family celebration lunches etc. Something that calls for nicer clothing than play clothes but doesn't need formal dress.

LaTrucha · 26/01/2014 14:18

Hmmm... sweet. I'm 40. I think perhaps my sweet days are behind me. i would have carried it off very well in earlier days.

I'm glad it's genreally got a positive response. Usually everyone on here hates anything i ask about!

I'm 5'6. There's a photo of me on my profile, though I'm a bit slimmer than that now. I don't wear black anymore either, before you say....

It's a lovely dress, I think the shape would work on lots of body types. I think it would suit you. Perfect for picnics, lunches in the pub beer garden in summer etc. ASOS do free returns anyway if you hate it in person.

dexter73 · 26/01/2014 16:24

I think it is very pretty. Order it - as whereisshe says, Asos do free returns.

kohl · 26/01/2014 16:31

Looking at your photo, I think it would really suit you.

Starballbunny · 26/01/2014 16:43

Why is a size 6 model wearing a size 12?

She looks just like DD2 would if she borrowed DD1's clothes Confused

CuntyBunty · 26/01/2014 16:46

Why wouldn't you wear it for work, with a "nice cardi", or a velvet or cord jacket? Unless you are in someplace that has Armarni Armour as a dress code, I think it would be fine for work.

LaTrucha · 26/01/2014 17:03

Thanks everyone. I'm quite overwhelmed with having chosen something people like!
