Having trouble working out my colours, anyone want to try?

Have been looking at the online questionnaires, but I'm struggling!

My hair is mousey (dyed a bit darker and redder at the moment), but hairdresser tells me it has warm tones. I'm not convinced, to me it looks very flat, but I guess they know better than me!
Eyes are greeny blue, with yellowy/white lines in the iris. In some lights my eyes look bright turquoise. I have a couple of goldy brown flecks.
Skin has pink tones, I think. At least I have rosey cheeks. I tan a golden colour, but burn first. Definitely not olivey.
Eyebrows are mousey and blonde, not red or dark.

Colours I look terrible in: bright pillarbox red, orange. (I thought I looked terrible in yellow but it's occurred to me it's so long since I've bought yellow I may not actually know.)
Colours I look good in: pale rose pink, mint green, electric blue (that Yves Klein colour), silver grey.

Jewellery wise, not a clue. Tried both gold and silver by my face this morning and couldn't distinguish which was better.

Any ideas?

I'm blue spring & reading at first I thought you might be the same but, having reached the part where you say you look terrible in orange, yellow & pillar box red but good in pale rose pink, mint green & electric blue, I don't think you can be spring at all as none of those colours are on our palette. I think you are some sort of Summer.

No, didn't mean that at all. Yellow, orange & red are in the spring swatches. Even if yellow is not one of your best colours as a spring it will still suit you far, far better than pink. All our greens have a yellow tone so lime will suit more than mint. Same with reds, burgundy colours are amongst the very worst for springs.

On this page, my eyes are just like the ones described as cool and delicate, apart from two tiny yellow/brown flecks. Mine also have a strong line around the iris though.

Have just taken a hideously unattractive photo of myself where my face is most definitely pink toned.

Can't imagine wearing burgundy at all, had winey coloured hair once and it was awful for me, but then I'm trying not to veto colours just because I don't like them!

This is the sort of pink that suits me.

I'd say in appearance I'm somewhere between the first two pics on the last link. But with slightly darker hair.

On that last site it describes cool colours as this: Cool seasons come alive in Pinks and Blues and Berry colors.
Eyes: Blue is most common. Hazel and blue-grey are also seen.
You may have a definite natural pink ‘glow’ to your skin.
Your hair can be ash blonde, or ash highlights; or rich chestnut brown with no reddish hightlights or true black.
Warm earthy colors, particularly golden yellow can make you look sick.

Which is definitely me, apart from the warm tone to my hair.

I think you might be more of a summer than a spring if your skin has pinky tones.

Your colouring is a bit similar to mine, although I have hazel eyes, and I was a cool summer when I had my colours done ages ago.

Pink tones is right, in the awful pic I've just taken I look like a ham in a wig.

Sounds like summer to me.

It is possible to have a neutral skin tone fwiw, I do, but you def sound cool-toned.

Ask somebody what colours look better on you from that link you did.
I'm supposed to be Spring but my dsis thought the Summer colours pictured on the website look better on me. I agree with her. Mind you my hair is dyed

Could be any of them TBH.

Electric blue is a winter colour, mint green is summer, pale grey is spring or summer depending on tone, but then burgundy appears in both summer and winter palettes and you don't like it on you. Really without direct comparison between warm/cool and bright/muted drapes you're as well off picking a season you like the look of and running with it, if you don't want to get analysed in RL. Even just sticking to one colour palette will make your look more 'together' even if it isn't the right one for you.

Good point, Hopefully. Breton Blue and Silver appear on both Summer and Spring in the Kettlewell colours (shame I don't really like any of their clothes!), so at least I'm on safe ground with those!

Can I ask, does electric blue really suit you or do you just like it? I kept insisting for years that bright strong turquoise is "my" colour and suits me brilliantly and therefore I must be a spring - but in reality I just liked turquoise and look way better in soft pastel blue. (I'm a summer).

Could you take something summer coloured and something from spring and try them, just like they do with those scarves when getting colours done? I can actually see a massive difference - too bright colours, although I love them, drain me; but soft colours make my skin glow and eyes sparkle.

Good question, and I really am trying to avoid the pitfall of buying things because I like the colour, rather than because I like the colour on me.

I have a top in that Breton Blue colour, and a few people have commented that I look good in it. It's a very plain top, and they were referring to the colour not the cut. That's the same reason I'm banging on about silver grey, the same thing happened with a top I had in that colour (although it did have a very slight green tinge).

All this is because I've decided to buy into the 'quality not quantity' shopping thing, and want to really make sure things are worth buying.

That blue top is the only really bright thing I have, like most people I'm sure I have several black things and other stuff that isn't really doing anything for me.

Why not just bite the bullet & go & get your colours done?
I know it's an outlay but by the time you've spent £25 on four things that lie festering unworn in your wardrobe you've broke even & need never waste money on unsuitable things again.

You're right, of course. Is one organisation better than another? Or much of a muchness?

My hair is badly dyed at the moment, do they put a cloth over that anyway?

I bet you're a summer - I always get compliments when wearing breton blue as well.

They look at your natural colour, so even if you've dyed it electric blue it won't matter if you have some roots showing then that's a good thing.

Have it done, honestly it's well worth it. Go to HoC, the swatch booklet is really handy. Tell us your rough location in case someone can recommend a consultant.

There's only one near me on the HOC website, so I guess that decision is made!

I think you are almost certainly a summer. Breton blue & silver grey are good on me too, whereas black drains me completely.

I got my colours done with HOC & I found it very useful.
