Intensive conditioners......overnight......

Okay so after abusing my hair with colours & bleach baths etc etc, my hairdresser recently advised me leaving an intensive conditioner overnight to maximise the 'intensiveness' - does this really work?!

So would I wash my hair as normal, apply the intensive conditioner, leave overnight, then wash & condition as normal in the morning?

I did this - put a small amount of conditioner onto dry hair on Friday morning, put my hair up for the day and washed it out today. It got rained on and yoghurt in this morning so it still looks shit, but possibly it is in better condition.

Good thing I avoided the yogurt downpour today.

I've been trying out the Elastisizer - form a ample in a mag last year - and it seems to work, even though I was more than sceptical.

I've been using vitapoint on an evening (mainly because it's the only one I've found without silicone) and although a miracle is yet to occur, it's feeling less snaggy at the ends

Going to give your tip a try AnaisB

I'm intrigued! I feel the need to deep condition my hair but does this mean you go to bed with wet hair?

ChishandFips33 · 25/01/2014 21:59

Meant to say only one found in supermarkets without silicone I need to get out more

Chocolategirl7 maybe towel dried? Hairdresser told me to put a towel on the pillow & to tie my hair back in a low ponytail. I'm just not sure whether I should pre-wash hair first or in the morning or whether you just rinse the conditioner out in the morning, but then chances are you've moved about in your sleep, so the conditioner has been rubbed all over, including the root area, thus making hair look greasy/ lanky if not washed out?

I used olive oil and honey warmed the other day, mainly for my scalp, after applying to scalp wrapped head in a plastic bag and then wrapped a micro cloth hair wrap over that, left all day and then washed hair as normal.
My hair was really soft and shinny after.

I sometimes comb coconut oil through damp hair and leave it in overnight to combat the abuse I put my poor hair through. It's cheap and natural just like the dye I shove on it every couple of months and does seem to help

Spray your hair with water to dampen it. Apply any condition and leave on overnight. Wash thoroughly and use a light conditioner in the morning.

Look at this website, there is loads of hair tips on it about coconut oil.

I leave coconut oil once a week and is slowly helping hair. Been told by hairdresser to cut back to once a month in a few weeks so don't overload hair with protein but I have wrecked mine. bleached 3 times in a row and ends were so fried had to get shorter than I would like cut. You can also put coconut oil on at least an hour before bleaching and just apply bleach on top of it. It helps lessen damage and actually gives more uniform lift from bleach.
