Good coverage foundation that lasts?

I am quite pale with a few spots (yuk!) and red patches where spots have been. I think because I am pale the marks linger.

I want a foundation that will last all day and will cover up the redness.

At the moment my foundation disappears by mid morning and really doesn't give that even look that I really want.

Brands available from Superdrug / Boots if possible as I don't have a lot of money to spend. I have an under eye concealer which I like and that is Revlon Colourstay.

My eye shadow and liner lasts all day but my foundation just doesn't! I am really aware of the redness.

Estée Lauder DoubleWear (not the light version) is good for providing even long lasting coverage. I've switched to a more lighter dewy foundation now though still wear it if I'm having a bad skin day

BoJolly · 22/01/2014 20:39

I am quite pale and couldn't find a DoubleWear shade light enough. I bought the lighter version but it still felt too heavy for me.

I use No. 7 Stay Perfect foundation in Calico and it is the best foundation
I have every used.

The best budget foundation I've found is Revlon Colourstay. Possibly as good as ELDW. It doesn't budge. Colour choice isn't bad either. I find it a bit heavy tho, so I don't really use it.

I've recently switched to Guerlain's Tenue de Perfection, after I got a free sample a few weeks ago and loved it!

I'm not pale, but I do have similar blotchy skin to you and this makes me look great, all day long!

Bobbi brown long wear foundation I'm porcelain and also suffer with hormonal breakouts and the concealer I was given works brilliant and I don't look like I have make up on at all converted tot his over all the others

DorisShutt · 23/01/2014 07:32

Bobbi Brown or Mac BB cream works brilliantly for me.

I'm pale so need more specialised brands for colour matching, but I find that a tube from them (40ml at approx £25) lasts for about three times as long as the cheaper brands from Boots as the coverage goes further.

I've also found I get less spots too!

Reckon colourstay, less than half the cost of double wear and just as good!

Boots No 7 Beautifully Matte. I have it in Calico, which I think is the palest shade. It blends and lasts well. It's £13.50, or less with a voucher!

Bare Minerals. Build-able coverage which gives a gorgeous glow.

Boots stay perfect in calico for me too - it's got good yellow tones to counteract redness. I fix it with a bit of bourjois health-something powder and it lasts til the evening.

MrsMarigold · 23/01/2014 10:17

I'm like you - Pale and prone to spots I found Boots Botanics BB Cream (about a fiver) is brilliant when used with Laura Mercier Dual Camouflage Concealer (expensive but lasts about a year).

Using a primer might be more effective than spending tons on foundation - I lose even YSL/Clarins/EL foundation by midday without primer. I alternate Clarins beauty flash balm and the House of Colour one depending on whether I want dewy or matt look.
