Start rite shoes

I ordered a pair of start rite school shoes on line (rhino older boys shoes), they are decent quality shoes but they have a chunky sewn in leather label inside the shoes where the heel would rest. Are start rite shoes usually made like this? I usually buy clarks shoes for school so haven't bought any other start rites to compare. The label seems like it is too bulky and will definitely be felt under the foot whilst the shoes is being worn. Has anybody else found this with start rite boys school shoes and did their children find the shoes uncomfortable?

only bought toddler start rite so far (DS is 3) and they don't have this. Doesn't sound ideal, perhaps thin insole if they do cause a problem (assuming they're otherwise ok)? Have to say his start rite shoes have looked a lot better for a lot longer than the last pair of clarks we had, and they are subjected to some fairly rough treatment by an active 3yo!

ds has happily worn such Startrite shoes and he is sensitive to such like. The insole is well cushioned.

Yes I did think about buying an insole to wear with the shoes as the shoes are good quality and fit well and it seems a shame to return them and have to go traipsing the shops for a replacement. I just wondered if start rite usually put such bulky labels in the insole of the shoes as it seems very strange.

DD always wears startrite for the ankle support and we've not had any comfort issues with the insoles. We have had ones with the label sewn in although her current pair just has startrite printed on the insole rather than a label sewn in. If it's not comfy maybe try contacting their customer services?

They are generally very good shoes but sometimes need a bit of breaking in!

I meant ds has worn them as is , no additional insole . It just beds down with wear into the insole of the shoe.
