Waxing blonde upper lip hair

Hi,

Namechanged as I'm a bit embarrassed about this Blush and know lots of people on here in real life.

I am going out in a mo, so won't be able to reply straight away, but when I get back (sober) I'm planning to wax my upper lip. I have Veet sensitive facial waxing strips. I did a test a few days ago and had no reaction, so fairly sure they're safe to use on my skin.

However, will they definitely not grow back darker/thicker/anything else horrible? They're currently blonde and only visible in certain lights. I've been plucking my eyebrows since I was 13 after a "helpful" friend plucked all the blonde hairs in between them and they now grow back dark instead of blonde. Everything I've read says that waxed hairs grow back finer, softer and less densely but I'm having a moment of panic.

Thank you ever so much in advance! :)

I'm v similar colouring to you and I use those exact strips! Every couple of weeks, just before bed, I clean my face, make sure it's dry, warm the strips on the radiator then do one side at a time. Press down then quickly pull off towards your nose, then do around/inside a little my nostrils (oh the glamour!!) then put a bit of sudocrem on. Sorted!! Just make sure it's a night you're sleeping alone ...

I didn't answer your question!!! Yes, it grows back finer. Smile

Can I ask, do you have to psych yourself up to do it?
I have my blonde hairs from top lip waxed off at a salon, but am contemplating DIY but not sure if I'm brave enough!!
Any other top tips?

I've used those exact same strips and have ended up with little spots everywhere the wax has been. They take ages to disappear too. Tache or sports tache or spots... Hmm?

I use them every 3 weeks. Definitely doesn't grow back thicker or darker. My top tips are warm with a hairdryer on a hot setting. Stick down well and rip off quickly in an upward motion. Also I always do it while walking round, never while looking in a mirror. I hurts less or that might just be me.

It hurts not I hurts. Silly tiny keyboard.

Fabulous, thank you all! :) I shall go and try it and report back.

Well, that seems to have been a success. I missed a few so tried to go back and get them but couldn't quite bring myself to rip the strip off fast enough the second time, I will be more careful to line it up properly next time. It does hurt but only briefly. Now it's a bit tingly. I used one of the "perfect finish" wipes but I cannot stand the smell, especially so close to my nose, so I had to wash it off. I shall use coconut oil instead next time I think.

Do you use the wipes IDugUpADiamond? (love that song by the way, one of my favourites) they seem a bit slimy so I wonder if they could be causing the spots.

I was worried it would be very noticeably bald and the rest of my face would look more hairy, I have very fine blonde hairs all over Angry but it looks fine.

Thank you everyone for your good advice! After this success I might work up to waxing elsewhere, I've never managed it before so have stuck to shaving.
