Ha ha ha. No way. Even the model looks ashamed as though 'it's come to this'.

Awful.

Tommy · 21/01/2014 18:39

no but my MIL would Grin

LittleBabyPigsus · 21/01/2014 18:44

Sorry, I don't see the issue? Is it because it's pink?

Starballbunny · 21/01/2014 18:48

It is a "look straight ahead remember you are getting paid" expression on his face. Although it's not as bad as some of the poor women forced to wear the per una stuff.

Starballbunny · 21/01/2014 18:49

and I'm now being haunted by a ad for it.

no way! promise.

Skinheadmermaid · 21/01/2014 21:57

He might actually, he has a matching turban.

Starballbunny · 21/01/2014 23:11

Ah, but that's cheating. I'm guessing your DP doesn't have a grey, sallow stubbly completion with the odd spot?

Also given he isn't a slim as he once was, those jumpers make me think more party balloon and snow man than hunk.

I could buy the white one for DH and get him to pretend he plays cricket Grin

Financeprincess · 22/01/2014 00:37

Har Har Pasta, he is, isn't he?

Perhaps he is thinking, "my dreams of starring in a Calvin Klein ad have turned into bitter ashes"

50ShadesOfMaybe · 22/01/2014 09:56

My DH would wear the colour: he is of the opinion that pink is the only colour for men's formal shirts.

He wouldn't wear the jumper because he (almost) never wears jumpers.

BaronessBomburst · 22/01/2014 10:00

My brother would have done in the eighties when he was 13. I think they must be trying to revive the look.

burnishedsilver · 22/01/2014 10:14

The jumper itself if actually quite nice. Dh has it in a grey marl colour. The flamingo pink and white, however, are somewhere between Miami vice and Alan Partridge.

polyhymnia · 22/01/2014 11:37

A nice, good quality pink formal shirt is one thing, this hideous cheap- looking colour of jumper quite another!

Ujjayi · 22/01/2014 12:20

It is definitely the colour that is wrong. And the styling. Hideous coral colour over white "office" shirt. And whilst I am on the subject...why do men insist on wearing white school shirts for work? There are lots of much nicer shirts out there for men.

Starballbunny · 22/01/2014 13:02

unnatural DH and I have been having the plain white shirt battle for 22 years.

It's pure laziness, if you have coloured stripes in your shirt, you can't grab any random tie off the back seat of the car, when you get to the office.

ISeeYouShiverWithAntici · 22/01/2014 13:11

my husband would. Sadly. Grin Probably not the pink, it wouldn't suit his complexion, but certainly the white one.

I am very sorry for what I am about to do to you all...

ISeeYouShiverWithAntici · 22/01/2014 13:16

The sort of thing you can expect to see if you dare to peek inside his wardrobe...

You have my sympathy, DH used to have jumpers like that.

I've spent 25 years converting them to stripped dark burgundy, navy, bottle green etc. rugby shirts. Dull yes, but safe for most casual occasions and DH doesn't care. He hadn't bought his own clothes in whole life.

He survived on his mum's offerings (hence the jumpers) as a student and my attempts at men's shopping ever since. Now he gets DD2 to help too.

Thank you.

The most offensive of the jumpers mysteriously vanished one day approx 10 years ago.

It is still referred to at times. With dark mutterings about how it can't just have vanished...

I maintain my innocence.

Starballbunny · 22/01/2014 15:25

Grin fortunatly DH grew out of his most offensive read and royal blue polyester trousers once he stopped cycling to uni.

They would have had to vanish too!

Lambzig · 22/01/2014 17:18

My DH used to wear tartan jeans (he had several pairs), with a white shirt and tie and steel toe cap boots to work when I met him. It's a good job his personality shone through.

That jumper might be too tasteful for him.
