I'm 40 and yet to find one that doesn't give me panda eyes by 11am. Have tried EL, clinique so not just cheap ones. it could be that I'm just poor at applying it.

Don't like the heavy look - just a bit of under eye definition.

Help, determined to find 'the one'!

Thanks!! Smile Smile

Urban decay eye pencils are amazing for me. Also MAC Liquilast if you like liquid liner - it would need nuclear winter to get that stuff off. Grin

Love the Bobbi Brown gel liners, also MAC's.

I have a great gel eyeliner pencil that is fantastic and easier to use for those lazy days / lack of time days, it's by Kate (a Kanebo brand) but I've not been able to find a UK stockist. But in my search for an equivalent I recently bought a Smashbox gel pencil and that's working a treat (although far more expensive than the Kate one). Doesn't budge and no panda eyes - I have tiny squinty eyes and most eyeliners will make me look like I've got massive shadows under my eyes in minutes.

Bourjois Queen Atitude Khol Kajal great for the cat eye flick

PoshPaula · 19/01/2014 16:46

The best liquid liner I ever bought was an Estée Lauder one which came in a beautiful khaki green. Black liquid eyeliner is too severe for me. Clinique pencils are great and stay put.

LittleBabyPigsus · 19/01/2014 17:23

Barry M waterproof gel pencil liner.

Collection 2000 liquid and felt tip liners. Sleek is good for more unusual colours.

Maybelline and Collection 2000 gel liners.

LittleBabyPigsus · 19/01/2014 17:24

Also Arabic/Middle Eastern beauty shops/ebay for the crayon-like kajal. SO CHEAP

PoshPaula · 19/01/2014 17:32

Have never been able to get kohl or kajal to stay put.

JeanPaget · 19/01/2014 17:36

Maybelline's gel eyeliners are fantastic and in my opinion v. similar to Bobbi Brown, although with a more limited range of colours.

I think they'd be a good way to test the waters with a cheaper product to see if you like the effect of a gel liner - they come with a brush and everything.

monkeysmama · 19/01/2014 19:25

Those of you who're getting good results from the Bobbi Brown gel - how do you apply it? I put my foundation on then apply it with the brush on my top lids. Most days it's gone two hours after application. I bought a gorgeous Laura Mercier pencil the other day but that too is gone pretty quickly.

WeeTeaJenny · 19/01/2014 19:39

Used Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid eye liner and Rimmel Exaggerate Eye pencil for years, its great as you dont need to sharpen it as its automatic, very similar to the Glimmersticks but usually on offer 3 for 2 in Tesco so you can get a few for less
Ive tried more expensive brands over the years but always came back to Rimmel

LittleBabyPigsus · 19/01/2014 20:27

Avon Supershock gel eyeliner pencil is v good. I really rate gel pencils.

MadBusLady · 19/01/2014 21:17

Lancome Artliner, just discovered, it's AMAZING. But very full-on, it's a bit like a marker pen and you can't do smudgey eyes with it.

southeastastra · 19/01/2014 21:18

use a small brush and eyeshadow instead, it lasts all day

RhondaJean · 19/01/2014 21:21

Have tried loads over the years and Avon are by far the best. They're such a bargain too.

ElBombero · 19/01/2014 22:02

Yeah same monkey, that strange, mine has to be washed off 12 hours later. Is your skin oily?

VenusDeWillendorf · 20/01/2014 10:14

If you use a small brush and powder over the liner it lasts, as southseaastra says. I find this seals in the pencil.

I use clarins pencil in grey, but only on the outer corners of my top lids. Anything on my bottom lids and I look too much like the Middletons.

Not sure how your liner is fading, unless your lids are oily/ sweaty, or you're putting your foundation bb or cc cream too close to your eyes, in which case maybe just use powder? Do you eat a lot of spicy food? If I do my eye lids sweat (nice, eh?!)

I find make up forever pots of gel eye shadow are brilliant as they never shift when they've dried. I use my finger on top lids, and have a small brush for them too.

Some great tips from Lisa elridge about eyeliners and gel eye pencil techniques on her site.

Smashbox limitless

monkeysmama · 20/01/2014 13:07

I don't have greasy skin but I do put foundation on my eye lids. Will try blotting the lash line with powder first and after and see what happens. Thank you.

I am with Pigsus on this: the Avon Supershock gel eyeliner is amazing!!
Once you put it on it dries on in a couple of minutes and doesn't budge.

BUT how do you sharpen it when it's blunted?

GinghamChic · 22/01/2014 23:02

Loved it today! Smile

LittleBabyPigsus · 22/01/2014 23:17
