Non-mumsy footwear for tramping about with the buggy

I am stuck in a brown boots rut - I have two pairs to wear with jeans etc but I'm struggling to break away from them. I could do with something else to wear with my skinnies and jeggings. Ideally suitable for wandering about with the buggy in all weathers (well, not torrential rain or snow, but suitable for a moderately rainy day). Are New Balance trainers still acceptable or are they completely passé now? Style wise I am probably too wedded to the wax jacket, skinnies and slim jumper or Breton top look, so nothing too radical. I suspect I would look ridiculous in Nike Air Max for example which I understand are all the rage with the kids these days

Trouble is I hate having shoes that make my feet look huge when wearing skinnies. I suspect my converse-type plimsolls of this, but I am working hard on ignoring that. So I don't want anything clumpy like Merrells or similar.

Any suggestions?

No mrs I love air max they look great with skinnies and jeggings and are the comfiest things ever, I do like new balance too but not had a pair in years, what about converse? They go with anything

As a buggy pushing, new balance wearing mother today I say go for them or the nike. I think converse are now a bit passé, I'm not sure I know of any other mothers who don't own a pair! How about some nike free run is the air max are too bulky, I am coveting these but I have no money this month, it's my birthday next month though!

I have some Nike free run trainers and wouldn't dream of wearing them other than for exercise - I'd feel like a teenager I think! I've just bought some of the new winter shearling-lined converse which are lovely and comfy, but otherwise it's usually boots of some kind for me (I have many varieties!). Have you thought about Ash virgins or wedges? They are a bit more weather proof than converse but fulfil a similar role.
