Recommendation for diamond necklace

After 20 years I've given up waiting for DH to buy me 'proper' jewellery. Ain't gonna happen. Got a birthday with a zero coming on and I'm planning on asking for cash towards a diamond necklace. Reckon I'll have a budget of £350. I don't want a solitaire type thing as with my budget it would be a bit tiny! Looking for white gold pendant type thing. A bit vintage looking. Any ideas?

Have you thought of looking in antique shops or at antique jewellery auctions? Most of the auction houses post their catalogues online these days & you can bid online too, if there isn't an auction house near to you. Lots of them do specific jewellery & silver auctions. Don't know where you are to recommend local ones.
With antique (or second hand jewellery) you're not paying VAT for a start, which helps a lot in making your budget go further, & the retail mark up has gone too. You should get something really nice for that budget. You could look on here for a local auction house & their websites will give more information.

Forgot to add, a lot of high street jewellers( the independent ones rather than the chain ones) often have second hand items that they've bought from people bringing things in ( or they've bought at auctions!)Several in our local town have displays of them in their windows along with new stuff, it always says if they're second hand. You still have the advantage if no VAT though the prices are higher than at auction because they want a profit o what they paid.

Aquelven thanks for your advice. I had considered second hand but have no clue and don't want to be ripped off. I'll check out our local auction house and independent jewellers.
