HOC - how do I get started?

Hi everyone

I'm keen to do a HOC consultation later in the year, maybe with DM so I can combine it as a Mothers Day present.

I've looked on their website but all I could find were phone numbers of the ladies in the area who do the consultations.

Please could someone in the know advise me how to go about booking an appointment - do they come to your house or do you go to their centre? and what does an appointment usually involve?

All I'd like is a simple colours session, but most of the options seem to involve lots of other style stuff I can't afford don't want.

Any help welcome!

I booked mine through the HOC website, there was a link for the two consultants in my area, I read their profiles, and emailed the one I liked the 'blurb' of the most. She has all her dates listed on the site.

I went to her, think this is the norm unless there's a group of you. It lasts all day and includes lunch. There are two consultants on MN, one goes by NN of Travelincolour' and the other is Hopefully. They usually pop up on HoC threads, but im sure neither would mind a pm.It might be worth giving an idea of your location then so MNers can give recommendations.

I'm North West, specifically near Manchester, so would be great if anyone has any recommendations. Many thanks Pulps - having a whole day session sounds like fun!

My session last week was just a colour session, not a style one. It was 99 pounds. It lasted for 2.5 hours because I was the only one there, I think they do up to six people per session so if there's a few if you it'll probably be half a day or longer. I used a colour consultant in Appley Bridge near Wigan, possibly not to far for you?

I can heartily recommend Catherine Maloney who covers Bury, Rochdale, Oldham & North Tameside. She did my colours and is fan. She's in her late twenties, early thirties.

Wigan would be great. I've googled the address - is it a HOC centre or a house?

It's her house, she has a bedroom set up for it.

I went to the Bolton/Bury one here

There were two others on my colour day & we were there from 10am to about 2.30. She provided lunch.
She was very good, older than the Wigan lady, probably late forties early fifties if that is important to you. She was very friendly & efficient, been doing it since the nineties so knows her stuff.

Cool, thanks for all the information everyone. Have emailed the Bolton/Bury one as that's closer to DM. An older consultant would probably make my DM more at ease! Many thanks :)
