Hi thrifty - don't know if you got anything from your spree
Lots of different schools of thought depending on if you look at The Beauty side or The Dermatology side
Some Dermatologists think that most skin problems are caused by overloading with products and the best way is a select few from one range so they interact together but don't clash.
Then the Cosmetic companies who think that you should use all the items from their range (of course)
And the Beauty Experts who cherry pick.
If you like Kiehls could you get a trial pack of their products (I haven't used Kiehl so no idea)
Toner: removes excess cleanser and depending how much alcohol is in it, it;s astringent. It doesn't close pores no matter what they tell you.
Eye make up remover- I'd say definate. My eyes wince at the thought of baby oil, Vaseline, baby wipes that people say they use. I use Gatineau Floracil (it's the only Gatineau product I like, my skin doesn't 'need' their level of care yet)
Sunscreen- unless you use one that's a moisturiser as well (I use Ultrasun Face Anti-ageing in summer and on holiday as my moisturiser) then I think you'd need both.
Can't help WRT the BB cream, I've never used it.
IMO (and I'm not a S&B guru but this works for me)
I've got various 'bits' , different brands that I pick and mix .
I love Philosophy but it's ££, I buy from QVC
I like some Elemis
I like some Soap & Glory ( and it's often on special offer in Boots
)
I love Philosophy 'Hope in a Jar' and L'Occitane (in the blue jar)
I do night-time with Floracil and Philosophy Purity (because I've built up loads) or the Superdrug Radience Hot Cloth ( as good as Liz Earle but much less £)
I've got a wash-off for the shower (foam and exfoliant alternate days, both Soap&Glory)
Superdrug Rdience Serum & Day Cream until I find a special offer on L'Occitane or Philosophy.
Lots of 'add-on' bits , mainly Elemis, for if I CBA have time.
The Bliss capsuals and ProCollagen eyeserum.
I guess you need to try a few and see what sticks
