Glasses

I have finally given in and admitted I can no longer see well. Optician says I have an astigmatism and need a mild prescription to correct it.
I am now the proud Shock owner of rather fetching glasses. Are there any make up do's and don'ts I should be aware of S&B guru's?

When it comes to eye make up- more is more. I always wear a light shadow plus liner on the upper lid and a lashings of mascara. I am short sighted which can make eyes look smaller.

watch out for lashes touching your lenses and depositing mascara streaks on them! Happens to me every single time I wear mascara. I'd do away with my glasses in a trade off for mascara but alas, I can't see a thing without my specs!

Do you have good non-reflective-coated lenses in your glasses? These make a big difference ime. If you have bother with mascara ie if your lashes are long, it is well worth getting them tinted instead (also works well if you progress to contacts.

I dont know what your eyebrows are like but glasses seem to be better 'framed' with fuller looking eyebrows. Not ridiculously thick, dark or anything like that, but I would try to avoid that sparse look

If you have a fringe it will be the right length for two days.

Have worn glasses since I was 10years old, look awful without a fringe, aged 46 I still haven't found peace with this problem.

That's the story of my (44yo) fringe Angry

Mine is now vastly too long, but if I cut it, I do it too short.
Then DD2(12) ROFL

Yes, I know that's a non MN acronym, but she had absolute hysterics last time.

I wear contacts most of the time but when I do wear glasses I need my hair off my face or it looks cluttered. Fringe (when I have one) gets twisted up and pinned on top of my head.

I also avoid dangly earrings with glasses, again to avoid feeling cluttered.

Oh and get in the habit of cleaning the lenses every morning, they get grubby very quickly and it is noticeable to other people.

Sadly, I have deep frown lines on my forehead and always have had, so hate my hair tied back.

I do wear long earrings, but I have long hair that makes them less obvious.
