Hairdressers - do you mean it when you say ïf you're not happy..."?

I had my hair done yesterday, highlights and lowlights. Lovely right? Well yeh, but I went in with a full head of highlights and came out 200 notes lighter with what looked like my natural colour.

Yes it looks nice, BUT why do "you" keep trying to take me back to natural? If I'm spending that kind of money I don't want it to look natural - does that make sense? Wink

I told the hairdresser that it looked like my natural colour and she said if I wasn't happy with it in daylight (it was dark when I left the salon) to give her a call and she'd change it. Do you guys mean that when you say you will? Would you think I'm a dreadful cunt to phone back?

It's not daylight yet of course, I'm just thinking out loud because frankly I'd rather have geri halliwell style stripes than "natural".

My hairdresser does. Have never done it myself, but have been there when other people came back to get things "fixed".

Absolutely go back. I've done it. And I am in a related industry & would much rather someone is happy. It's just a difference of interpretation.

Yes we do...

Ring and go back. It will be fine....honestlySmile

I would much rather have the opportunity to put it right for my client than lose them.

Thank you lovely ladies. :) I called just now and have an appointment as soon as I'm back from hols (going tomorrow) and they sounded really nice about it. First time I've complained about a haircut in nearly 30 years - and that was a lop-sided unasked for mullet so I had real grounds! Grin

I have the same issue with my hairdresser, in fact all the ones I've been to for my highlights - it genuinely suits me to have a full head of scattered bleach highlights, and my hair is fairly greasy so it also helps the texture of it. But every ime they suck in their teeth, look sideways at me and say it will be too harsh on my hair, and why don't I try 'caramel' or 'honey' tones which on me turn an attractive shade of orange within a fortnight Hmm

DolomitesDonkey · 09/01/2014 12:48

I'd happily pick orange over "scottish mouse" which is what I'm currently sporting!

Yeh yeh, I understand lots of blonde can be draining - that's why I plaster myself with make-up! Grin

I've just done this. Been having my hair highlighted for 10+ years but was really unhappy with the ones I had done at the weekend. I've always had two shades put in but for some reason the colourist (who I've never had before) said one shade would do. Well it didn't! Too light and I hated it but didn't realise until I got home and saw my hair in natural light.

Rang yesterday and I've had a second shade threaded in today so much happier. I figure if I'm paying over £100 I should get the colour I want and actually the salon were very good about it.
