Can I ask for your tips on using a Babyliss BH?

Sorry if this has been asked before - I'm on the app and its rubbish for searching!

I've had a Babyliss big hair since Christmas 2012 but not used it much as I can't seem to get to grips with it. Sometimes it works fabulously but most of the time it makes my hair look shite. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong?

I've tried using it with towel dried hair and after partly drying my hair with the hair dryer but either way it goes weird and frizzy. Also I use smoothing cream stuff but it doesn't make much of a difference. I do it in sections too. Also the times it's worked, it looks good for about half an hour and then it goes flat and I end up giving up and just using my straighteners.

I've just used it now and the ends have gone nice and flicky but my roots still feel slightly damp underneath and I can't get then dry. The top has gone frizzy Hmm

Please help!!

Make sure you pull your hair upwards when drying , and pause while close to your scalp so your roots can dry.

I watched a few YouTube videos of people reviewing it to get tips.

I suspect you are rushing it and not fully drying each section before moving on the the next. Think of how long a hairdresser spends drying your hair. Most of us rush it.

I only use mine on dry hair and it works just fine.

Birdybear I pause at the roots for ages but it's still damp underneath Sad but if I blast my roots with the hair dryer first i end up with dry ends too! It seems like a lot of effort for a rubbish result.

Have a look on YouTube at some tutorials. That might help?

Personally I only use mine on setting two as 3 goes too fast and makes it frizzy.

I used mine on wet hair with quite a bit of serum. I take my time to make sure each section is really dry before moving onto the next section. Oh and I pull it quite tight ( on the roller bit). If I rush it and it's not totally dry it goes frizzy and doesn't hold. It usually takes me about 30 minutes to do it properly ( so not on a work morning!) but it does last for 2/3 days. Grin

Will look at YouTube, thank you! Yesterday I ended up using it on dry hair but spritzed the ends of each section with water before doing each bit and it seemed to work a lot better (this was on day old hair so the frizz had died down a bit). I'll keep doing this from now on as I'm trying to stop using my straighteners so much. It didn't take long either Grin
