Soak the stain with neat washing up liquid for half an hour or so, then pop back in the washing machine.

Lakeland sell a product called 'Sticky Stuff Remover' that works well for things like wax - it might work, though I would test somewhere inconspicuous first. You just dab it onto the fabric and ash as normal.

Could you iron it (not too hot) onto paper which will absorb the oil?

bishboschone · 06/01/2014 14:00

Washing liquid .. Or get it dry cleaned which will get the oil out .

yy - fairy liquid is the best thing for cooking oil.

This is a fab stain remover (amazon also have it if you don't have a Lakeland) and gets oil out of clothes so would be worth a go.

I always sprinkle talc on cooking oil stains and it seems to soak up the worst of it, and makes the stain disappear if it's a small one. Not sure if it will work at this stage but maybe worth a try.
