How can I get rid of the bags under my eyes?

I'm 43 years old and have dreadful bags under my eyes which I hate. Oh wise ladies - what actually works?
I get as much sleep as I can ( kids are not great sleepers but I get 8 hrs usually), drink loads of water and have tried various creams from the high street. Recently tried Argan oil eye serum which is lovely but pricey and I'm not noticing a real difference.

They are dark but it's the bags and the crepeyness which worries me more. When I use Touché �clat I just feel a bit 'made up' and had a visit to a Clarins counter for a bit of a makeover but felt they just made the wrinkles look worse. I don't smoke and don't drink much alcohol ( although I do like my coffee).

Hello re madmomma msg.thank you for your tip..I have brought carole malones bag and read good reviews..I suffer from horrible under eye bags and was considering surgery but want to stick with an exercise programme..the eye bag exercises seem particularly hard and one of them I felt I couldn't breathe. .realistically how long did you see a difference in the eye bags after doing the exercises. .mine seem worse or it could be that I am looking in the mirror more as I am doing eye exercise..all help appreciated.

I used to wake up with dark bags under my eyes but since I have been on the paleo diet, they are less prominent for sure. Must be something to do with cutting out alcohol, refined sugar and increasing proteins and omega 3s.
