I've decided that cleansing wipes

are not good for my skin. I don't know if it's just me that's a sensitive little flower (!) or if others have problems with them too.
Can anyone recommend a good cleanser please?
I don't get on with hot cloth cleansing, oils seem to irritate my skin. (Have tried and failed with Emma Hardie, Eve Lom, Liz Earle, et al)

I suggest this Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser. It's very soft and gentle. It's £26 for the big bottle in my link but actually this starter set is excellent value. His facial wipes are far more gentle than others I've tried and are included in the set.

I can only get on with wipes if I use them just to remove make up and then use a facial wash to wash off the residue of the wipes! Otherwise I get a rash.

I still find this works best for me as a face wash on its own doesn't remove my eye make up etc and I find all in one wipes convenient. But they do irritate my skin if I don't wash afterwards.

I've just started using soap and glory cleanser (it's a pump dispenser, cream is peach and menthol). It's lovely, you just wet your face a bit, rub it all over and rinse. It takes off all traces of makeup. I was finding the wipes too harsh on my old skin.

I love Origin's cleansers. They're not cheap, but last ages, and they're fab for giving you loads of freebie miniatures as well. Am about 4/5 of the way through a tube of 'Make my Day' and had that about 3 months, use it once/twice daily. I also had a 30ml mini Dr Weil's from them that lasted 2 weeks on holiday.

Origins do free mini-facials to introduce you to their stuff.

I use baby wipes but wash them out and use as a disposeable flannel.

I use them with a lotion cleanser and toner to remove make up prior to washing face.

They are cheap and effective cloths.

I don't stick to the same brands.

Bioderma h20 cleansers are the very best in my humble opinion. I'm a makeup artist and use it on the toughest of makeup removals and it's still gentle enough on the skin.

Wipes are ok as a last resort, after the gym, swimming etc but not a long term solution.

I like Origins also, the products are very natural and never tested on animals

FoxyHarlow123 · 02/01/2014 17:43

Irrelevant that they're not tested on animals - they're part of the Estée Lauder/L'Oreal group, who have a slightly different approach.

I have tried lots of different cleansing wipes both cheap and expensive and the best by far and the only ones which do not irritate my skin are cheap and cheerful fragrance free baby wipes. I do love hot cloth cleansing, though.

Md formulations cleanser is amazing. Oil cleansers irritate me too and Emma Hardie was no better ...... I'll never give up my loyalty now!
