I have seen some recommendations for this but nervous of trying because My hair over the last year has thinned and dropped out, in my early 40s. Not only is it much thinner and shorter it's a frizzy mess so would love to know from others if it is safe to use? Thanks

it should be safe but if hair is very thin it could look a bit flat after, it will certainly make it less frizzy and smooth and shiney.

Thanks for your reply, my hair just has it's own mind, got a BBh for Xmas and initially it looked good and swishy but then it rebelled after a couple of hours!

I have had this done several times and highly recommend it. Had Kerastraight done 3 times and Nanokeratin done once. All done in hairdressers. I know some people get a DIY kit but I would prefer a professional hairdresser to do it (too many DIY disasters previously!) Costs about £150 which seems extortionate but when you realise that means 3-4 months of normal hair - my thin fine hair goes frizzy in damp weather, never looks tidy, no amount of serums, deep conditioners etc would do anything - I think it is worth it. The difference with Kerastraight is when it is first done it is absolutely dead straight and flat against your head but once you've washed and dried it yourself (make sure you buy the shampoo and conditioner specially for keratin treated hair) it looks fab. Kerastraight seems to have an odd whiff the first couple of times but this wears off. Nanokeratin is also excellent and just makes your hair less fluffy not absolutely dead straight. Either way they are both excellent. I'm not a hairdresser just know if my hair looks great it makes me happy! Cannot link but Google Kerastraight or a Nanokeratin. Hope that helps.

I've had kerastraight and it's fantastic. I've got shoulder length, thick, curly hair and had the treatment at the start of October. I'm only just starting to see a bit of curl at the roots. My hair has grown more that it's not being fried by straighteners everyday. I didn't like the shampoo as it didn't seem to clean my scalp so I've been using the tresemme keratin one. I still haven't needed to use my barrel brush to dry my hair straight. Even my (notoriously tight) husband impressed with it- so much so that he's offered to pay for my to have it done again.
