Hi ladies, I've seriously lost sight of what is fashionable or stylish since having my two children very close together. I put on a lot of weight during my pregnancies, going from a size 12 to a 16 and whilst I'm trying to lose weight I just feel bleh in my clothes and have no confidence in the way I look anymore. I used to go out in London a lot, enjoy dressing up - to look super smart and chic at work or for a night out but now I haven't a clue as I spend a lot of time home with toddlers. Thing is, I have a do to go to on New Year's Day (formal lunch) with very posh inlaws and there will be a few other youngish females in family who I know will look me up and down. Any advice on what would look classy and make a curvy girl feel good? My budget is £150 ish.

Gorgeous plum coloured ankle boots and some jumpers in the sale. It is most definitely on my radar now.
Thanks for the tip x

Hi ladies, I opted for a 3/4 sleeve navy Jaeger dress and grey suede lace up heels with navy tights. Looked a lot nicer than it sounds and all my purchases were versatile. Also treated myself to a Alice Temperley blue blouse which will look great dressed up with jeans. Such good deals at the mo, my shoes were 39 pounds knocked down from 120 x

Sounds lovely. Hope your lunch went well.

Toast clothes look a bit meh on the site but I went a size up on a couple of dresses and by love, they look a lot more chic and flattering even though they are very loose (paired with a statement necklace and good heels)

Yes Toast do look a bit sister-wife but maybe I will try something apatite.

Sister wife- hah!

The fabrics are good quality and IMHO a loose-ish but well cut dress is flattering on a lady with curves. I'm a size 12 and paranoid about clothes that cling to the wrong bits, and emphasise all lumps and bumps.

You could also try a corset! I have one from Vollers and it holds me in and gives me good posture when sitting. Not bad for formal occasions where you may be wearing a close fitting dress.
