Help me with my new curling tongs!

A biiiig please here from me.

I've got boob-length naturally curlyish hair but I'm disabled. Now that in itself doesn't matter except that it means I've never really had the energy to take care of my appearance - well on the list of my priorities after my ds, dh and job. However, I've just treated myself to a curling tong after deciding I don't want to look like a scruff anymore. I can look very pretty with makeup but what's the point when my hair looks like shite?

I've had a play with them and think I can make my hair look nice, but could do with some hints and tips about how to use them, how to deal with residual frizziness, how to make my hair look it's best. I don't want the curls to drop out too quickly - stuff like that. I can only wash my hair every 2-3 days or it goes horribly dry, and I can't afford any products. Can anyone help?

What I do is section my hair from ear to ear then start to curl from the left to right making sure that I curl away from the face . When that is done I then do the top section , still making sure that I curl away from the face . Leave it to cool and then I comb through it with my fingers , a quick spray of hairspray and it's done Smile hope this helps
