So your recommendations please. Have used Liqwd and loved it but v expensive to ship from States. Have a parlux hairdryer. Can anyone recommend a good shampoo, conditioner and styling products to give me more volume? sleek volume or beach/surf style volume. Ta.

I rate Aveda. My hair is fine though not thin and I'm finding their Pure Abundance shampoo and conditioner very good at the moment. Does make a difference.
Think Inviati would be well worth a try.

I'm waiting for l'oreal fibrology to come out next week

AnnaBullerby · 17/01/2014 18:29

what's the difference between fine hair and thin hair ?

polyhymnia · 17/01/2014 19:03

Well, my hair's not thin as I've got a lot of hair on my head, ie the strands are closely packed together, but each individual strand is very fine and soft.

Aveda abundance has made my hair look greasy and lank, so disappointed. It seems to be the conditioner mostly so I have just been putting a tiny bit on the ends.

Tresomme do some useful boosting mousses.

I recently got a bottle of diaboost which you can buy at hair salons, it's not cheap but you only use a tiny amount. It's part of the Nioxin range. I tried nioxin products last year and not sure they made a huge difference plus the Philip Kingsley supplements, again not convinced made a difference to hair growth whereas the diaboost swells the hair strand. Very interested in the new l'oreal range.

ok - so hair has gone down the pan and feels so dry after stopping using swell so it must have been doing some good even though it felt yucky! The quest continues and I've just ordered some rahua samples. Super expensive but supposed to be amazing - spent too much money over the years trying to find products (make-up, shampoo etc) that work for me so if it's the one don't mind giving it a try!

I've tried the Aveda range (Invati). Nice stuff but didn't make too much difference. Also just got the loreal fibrology range. Lovely products. Making a bit of difference but Im not holding out for Cheryl Cole extensions voluminous hair!

CointreauVersial · 01/02/2014 16:59

I'm another one waiting for that new L'Oréal range, Fibrology.

Though it will probably be like most of their stuff: a triumph of marketing over substance.

FoxyHarlow123 · 01/02/2014 17:36

Fibrology is out already. I got it in Boots a couple of days ago.

nikkihollis · 01/02/2014 17:38

And another one waiting the Fibrology stuff! I've got the newspaper article attached to the fridge door to remind me to look out for it. Usually I find whatever works wonders is either too sticky/claggy or makes my scalp sore, so I'm not going to get too excited about this but do want to try it. Mine is fine, thin and shedding :(

Swell is rubbish, I bought the 3 products in November & was unimpressed. Hair dull & straw-like.
Currently using Aeterna Bamboo shampoo & styling mousse, very pleased with the results so far.
Echo ithers, though, a good, short cut does make a difference.

FoxyHarlow123 · 01/02/2014 17:45

Hello hello hellooooooo! ITS. OUT. ALREADY! From Boots. It's lovely too.

CointreauVersial · 01/02/2014 17:47

Well, it won't be in my crappy minuscule Boots for ages, I imagine.

So, does it do what it says on the tin?

nilbyname · 01/02/2014 17:48

This is my hair routine, my hair is thin, dry at the ends/oily after 1 day at the roots.

Nioxin thickening system for treated hair
Bumble and bumble thickening serum
Bumble and bumble mending complex
Bumble and bumble thickening blow dry spray, I also use the prep if going out.
Beasties dry shampoo for body, only round the ends.

Hair feels and looks thicker.

mazarineblue · 01/02/2014 17:59

I've got fibrology - its great on my thin hair,my hair looks thicker and bouncier somehow, my parting also looks thicker, would recommend!

plentyofsoap · 01/02/2014 18:20

Aussie mousse is lovely.

erictheelf · 16/02/2014 18:08

well - been using the rahua travel size shampoo and conditioner for a week and it is lush! Soft hair that is looking more and more shiny by the day. Price is a problem though!
