Haircut in one hour...

im fed up with my fine frizzy just below shoulder length hair. I straighten it and look after it well and it is in relative good condition. I dye it a red/brown colour.

im toying with the idea of an asymmetric bob... are they ridiculously out of date? I have an oval face and a larger than average forehead so always have a fringe. at the minute its a sideways fringe . have been growing out a full on fringe as I foumd it to be too high maintenance.

any other ideas I have missed? ive googled and saw a pic of charlize theron witg a lovely asymmetric bob. gogle it and give me your opinion Grin

An asymmetric bob is a classic, will always look classy and imo will always look fab. I used to have one but with my hair was quite high maintenance, otherwise would have again.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 20/12/2013 15:19

my only worry is that I wouldn't be able to tie it back on a non hair wash day.

my hair is high maintenance and reacts very badly to humid air Grin

I think asymmetric bobs are very dated.

And remember it's easy for Charlize Theron to look good with her model looks and hair stylists at the ready Grin .

The reality might be a bit more unmanageable!

Is there a wave to your hair? Alexa Chung's style could be good.

Look at this style too Gorgeous!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 20/12/2013 15:26

yes my hair is naturally frizzy and wavy/curly.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 20/12/2013 15:26

I never wear it in its natural form though

You could embrace the wave and go for something like Alexa's hair here?

I know she often has the dragged through a hedge look going on but when done her hair looks lovely Smile .

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 20/12/2013 15:31

I really cant embrace the wave it looks shit on me Grin

I need something smooth and sleek.

argh I'll prolly just end up with a trim Angry Grin

sometimes its better once you've styled it yourself.my hairdresser does mine far to flat/poker straight/stuck to my head. I love the way she cuts it though so let her off.

SundaySimmons · 21/12/2013 22:13

I prefer this to the asymmetric bob

that's similar to mine but its a bit shorter at the back. just not sure it suits my face. you're right tho, once I've dobe it all myself itmight feel better. Smile

I also think the asymmetric bob is dated. And although I loved the one I had years ago, it was such a hassle to grow out. It took bloody ages and looked ridiculous as it grew out.

nickEcave · 22/12/2013 10:55

Is an asymmetric bob the same thing as an inverted bob where the hair is longer at the sides and cut up at the back of the head? I thought that was a classic hairstyle that never really dated. It was the most flattering hairstyle I've ever had about 6 years ago and I was thinking of getting it cut again in a month or so as my shoulder length hair is pretty boring at the moment. Don't you think that with haircuts it should be more about what suits your face shape than what a 20-something sleb is rocking in nightclubs?

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 22/12/2013 12:14

asymmetric bob is shorter on one side than the other.
