Complete overhaul - recommendations appreciated!

Am in need of a complete overhaul with regards to beauty products (well, with everything style and beauty related really but I'll start with baby steps!)

Have been using whatever products catch my eye and tbh it's doing me no favours! My skin and hair looks dull, can be quite dry and now have a few fine lines appearing (am mid 30s).

My budget is more Superdrug/Boots as I need to start afresh and buy every single item, right down to the basics but if you know of a miracle product I will gladly splurge for great results.

So, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated - can be absolutely anything beauty related! Moisturiser? Shampoo? Make up? All suggestions welcome!

Liz Earle cleanse and polish cleanser is a great way to have good skin ime. It is quite expensive, but worth the splurge. Only available online. Someone on her kindly suggested the superdrug version - I think it is Naturally Radiant. It is ok as a hot cloth cleanser but not as nice a smell and results not as good for me.

What's your skin type? Dry, normal, oily? Do you have dehydrated skin?

For shampoo, conditioner and hair mask, I really like this range: thefeelingofsummer.blogspot.ch/2013/04/tried-it-out-schwarzkopf-gliss-total.html (not my blog, but it does have pictures of the products) - it works as well on my hair as Redken All Soft, but it's much cheaper. I have only tried the shampoo, conditioner and mask (then one in the pot), so I don't know if the other products are any good.

Other than that, I'd go for a light coverage foundation, a highlighter, blusher, mascara, lip product (lipstick, gloss, balm - whatever you like) and maybe eyeshadow and concealer if you need it. A pressed powder for touch-ups is also good.

Sleek make good eyeshadows and blushers and are cheap.
Bourjois foundation is good. I like their shine lipsticks and have heard good things about their mascaras.
Both brands should have a decent highlighter. You could also use a shimmery beige eyeshadow

If you need brushes, I can recommend Real Techniques brushes. The Expert Face brush is great for foundation - it really makes a massive difference.

I have a Superdrug hot cloth cleansing one (not sure which one), makes me feel like I have to wash my face again, like there's residue left, not a nice clean feeling.Have just looked online for the cleanse and polish, very good reviews, John Lewis has a starter set for £16 which isn't as expensive as I thought it would be! £16 on something that works is better than £s on stuff that doesn't!

My skin is dry at the moment, to the point of tiny flaky bits (don't think central heating is helping!) I look worse with make up than without the past few weeks as it looks cakey after an hour.

Heavenlydevils ah didn't know JL do it! I've asked for it for Xmas as am on a maternity leave budget. I was amazed at how good it was and I have dry flakey skin. The cleanser is the key bit for me. Good to have moisturiser too but I just use lush Imperialis. Toner didn't make much difference for me.

Have also just put it on my 'late Christmas gift to myself' list. Do you use it morning and night?
