Shoes for wide feet

My feet are insanely wide. Ok maybe not insanely (E or EE width) but enough to make me feel like Cinderella's step sisters in any normal shoe shop! I do love stylish, good quality shoes and don't mind spending money on them. What are your go to labels/websites/shoeshops for nice, comfortable shoes? I don't mind ordering from abroad (yeah, that desperate!)

I get mine in Evans or Brantano - they both have nice shoes

Depends what style of shoes you like. Hotter are good for comfort, as is Rieker. Neither are good if you want killer heels. For casual, Merrel and Rocketdog tend to be generous widths. Vivobarefoot even fit me!

I'm a bloody duck footed EEEE, with a skinny heel. Buying shoes makes me cry. I can go a whole year without finding anything I like that works.

M & S do a huge range of wide fitting shoes. I often see a shoe I like but, disappointingly, only available in a wide fitting. Unlike the clothes at the moment the shoes aren't all frumpy.

hellymelly · 19/12/2013 16:33

Chie Mihara shoes suit wider feet, but be warned..you will be addicted.

ouryve · 19/12/2013 16:33

Don't know where you are, btw, but schuh is good for quite wide but not frumpy. There's a shop up our way, called Scorpio shoes, which had some nice stuff in. If more formal is your style, then try Ecco, which tend to be made similar to Hotter.

Another vote for Evans. Shoe Taiilor have a lot too. New Look are ok but not very good quality. Oh and DD got some surprisingly fab boots from M and S. We have also had nice shoes from Next.

wide shoes

boots sizes

all wide boots

I have really wide feet, narrow ankles, terrible to buy for,

green shoes are brilliant as they make them to fit you in any colour/finish you want, and will resole so last forever

you can also do a weekend course and make your own.

I have large, massively wide feet with bunions and very narrow heels. I also wear orthotics. so have to have something that grabs onto my feet, or I walk out of the shoes. The rest of me is very conventionally sized (I'm tall and quite slim), so I look like a putter if I wear very clumpy footwear.

In Winter, I wear boots a lot. For long boots, I wear Spanish Riding boots from the Really Wild Company. They're insanely expensive, but I've had mine for years and they go with everything. For ankle boots, I have a pair of Russell & Bromley Ringo boots, which are very comfortable and although they're not very wide fit, they have round toes so they work for me. For work and formal, I buy Hotter shoes in extra wide - you have to watch out for the styles that aren't grannyish; Valetta looks very neat and has a bit of a heel. The other ones that are brilliant are the ballet style pumps from Hassia, which are very wide and supportive. I get mine online from Peter Hahn. In the Summer, I buy whatever is comfortable in Clarks or M&S.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I wish more labels would offer their designs in different widths like they seem to do in the US.

Clarks do some of their styles in E and EE width. I don't know if they stock them in stores or just online.
