Bra help please!

Yet another bra thread! I'm hoping someone can help me find a small back bra.

I'm in the market for some new, underwired, properly fitting bras rather than the awful maternity ones I'm currently wearing (just coming to the end of breastfeeding).

I've followed the bra intervention threads with interest and I measured myself as 26/ 34 - making me a 26FF (I think!) - however am I right in thinking this size doesn't exist? Anyway I spent a fruitless day yesterday trying on 28E and 28F bras but none fitted properly - it seems that I've lost quite a lot of firmness but still have quite a lot of volume (thanks breastfeeding!) so balcony styles suit best but everything felt totally unsupportive and like it was just hanging there as the back band was just huge. I tried a 30DD in M&S which was ok but I still had to do it up on the tightest hook so I guess it will be useless again within a few washes. To add to the problem I don't want to spend loads as I'll probably change size again when I finish feeding! Although at the moment I would spend anything to get out of the horrible underwear I'm currently stuck with.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone had found small back bras and any recommendations for websites or shops? Thanks in advance!

More bra help needed here: I know someone with magnificent boobs who is wearing the wrong bra size ( we get changed together and it is very obvious). I so want her to know the wonder of wearing the right size but it would sound offensive if I raised the subject wouldn't it?

OhNoGeorge · 18/12/2013 08:40

Thanks goodasitgets - those bras look great. I'm definitely going to order one.

I know exactly what you mean Kiki - I know someone like that too! What on earth do you say? It must be really uncomfortable to have the size so wrong.

I would suggest looking ...
here , and here , also here None of them have any 26 back but they have a lot of 28s in different styles.

I highly recommend Leia as a place to go for bra fitting.

Excellent thank you mychild - I'll pop into Leia on my next trip to Bluewater.

I went into Bravissimo yesterday but they just didn't have anything with a small enough back. I went down through the cup sizes until they were just too small to fit everything in but the back was still massive.

You can alter bands using Rixie clips (eBay) or by some simple seeing (google for video clips).

If Bravissimo couldn't help then I doubt Leia would be any better. Most shops start at a 32 and the smallest you'll find in good high street shops (JL, Debenhams, HoF) is a 28.

I'd suggest a 28F and then alter the band. Perhaps buy a cheap one from eBay to experiment with? I can highly recommend Cleo bras for superb uplift even for boobs that have lost some fullness.

OhNoGeorge · 18/12/2013 09:45

Thanks Sorrel - just looked up Rixie clips, revelation! What a great idea. I'm going to do some experimenting with different sizes, will look at the Cleo, sounds like just what I need. Thanks - this is all really helpful. I literally felt like I would never be able to find a decent bra again, it's a depressing experience trying on style after style that just does nothing for you.

It was the Bluewater store that made me recommend them OhNoGeorge. I was in there last week and went in wearing what I thought was a comfortable bra. I came out with one which was a band size smaller and two cup sizes bigger. My boobs haven't been this happy since I got fitted in Rigby and Peller (also at Bluewater and only because I had some vouchers). If you can go during the week when it is quiet then they will have all the time in the world to go back and forth getting things for you to try.

Leia are good its just that bravissimo stock their brands-Freya etc. -So if bravissimo didn't have anything tight enough they won't either most likely.

Debenhams gorgeous range is known to run small in the back so might be worth trying some of them on.

Excellent, thank you.
