OK i know I have posted a very similar thread to this before. I am about to book a HOC colour and style day. I have asked for it for christmas following rave reviews on here.

I was just looking at the website and the consultants in my area look like older women. Is HoC something that younger women do too (I have just turned 30) or will I be the youngest one there by a country mile?

I wish I had done it when I was thirty instead of wearing the wrong colours and bad makeup and the wrong shapes for years. Doesn't matter if you are younger - the others will just be jealous. Xmas Grin

Well I did mine this year at 35 (but I FEEL young!) and also wish I'd done it earlier.

I confess to having a good look for a consultant I considered 'stylish' ( in London so lots of choice) - mine was def middle-aged, but v elegant. HOWEVER, they do all have the same training, AND even on the style day, they are not pushing a partic look at all.

Great thanks Smile I asked for it from ILs for Christmas and MIL says she wants to come with me. We have very different styles but she does wear quite nice clothes. Had sudden cold feet but feel better now!

OP I'm 32 and had mine done earlier this year! Like you I was worried it would be for "women of a certain age". There were four others on the day - two my age, and one of them had brought her mum and aunt. So if that's anything to go by, you won't be the youngest by much. Enjoy it! It's made a big difference to how I feel about clothes, and how I look - it will for you too.

I was 32 when I had colors done and have just had style day done at 34.

ToffeeWhirl · 16/12/2013 01:02

I had my colours done recently. I was the oldest of three and I'm 39. The others were in their 20s/early 30s. It made me very conscious of my lines Sad.

It's not something for older people at all! I'm 31 and I'm a consultant. So glad I had it done young, and I love it when i get 18-20 year old clients - who obviously aren't going to follow advice all the time (what would be the point of being 18-20 if you can't break a few rules) - but know how to look amazing for job interviews/important events etc. I have a real mix of late 20s/30sclients, quite often with either new jobs or new children, who are feeling a bit lost, and older clients in their 50s/60s who want to continue to look amazing but are worrying about looking muttony or whatever.

ToffeeWhirl · 16/12/2013 12:50

Actually, I'm 49! Obviously stuck in my head at 39 .

KosherBacon · 16/12/2013 13:15

I went at 33, the other girl with me was late 20s early 30s and the Consultant was about the same age as us too. Definitely not an older persons thing.

MissScatterbrain · 16/12/2013 14:16

Had mine done in my 20s and there were others of a similar age in the same group.
