I've bf my three kids and my former 34jjs are now 30dd and most of that is wrinkled skin. They look teeny raisins and are making me sad, I don't feel like my body is mine anymore.

I know implants are not for everyone but I would like to feel more like me, and I am not looking to justify the choice to have implants or not, but I would be interested in talking to people who have them

I have a load of questions that the BAPS site doesn't really answer what is it like living with them, do you plan for ten year replacement cycles, does it always feel like there is a foreign object in you or is it like piercing s where you just forget they are there; what did you choose saline, silicone, teardrop etc and why, what do they look/ feel like ten years on?

i had them a few years ago. Same sort of reason After breastfeeding 3 kids, they looked like spaniels ears . Also had an uplift, I was fed up of feeling deformed, like I had a 90 year olds boobs on the body of a young woman. It bothered me.

I went with the company mybreast, as all their surgeons are BAAPS and BAPRA members (important) they had reazlly good aftercare policies the others also seemed to be trying to put the hard sell on me, which I think is a dodgy sign. I dont like being phoned by salespeople, and if im going to have a major operation I want my consultation to be with a surgeon, not a salesperson on commision.

I joined a forum about it, did tonnes of research, felt comfortable about my surgeon, and its been fine. They feel like part of me. I have 420cc silicone round nagor implants, which took me from a 30c to a 30FF. They look very natural, balance my shape, and Im really really happy with the result

Sparklegeek · 13/12/2013 17:05

I shall try to answer some of your questions! I had mine done 5 years ago.

Yes you forget they are there, they just become part of you. Except in certain positions when I lay on my side in bed, I have adjust slightly to take my weight off the 'underneath' one I'm lying on.

I have silicone under-the-muscle ones as I had virtually no breast tissue so if I'd had them on top of the muscle they'd look like footballs (the WAG look).

No I'm not planning for replacing them at the 10 year mark as nowadays they can stay in as long as you have no problems. They don't 'wear' like earlier ones so it's safe to leave them in.

Five years on they look perfectly natural but not down round my waist! My nipples are at the optimum halfway point between shoulder & elbow Grin

I went from 36A & now wear a 34DD (though I suspect from other threads on here that those statistics could be wrong, but every time I try on what I apparently should be wearing it is so tight I can't breathe!) I am a size 12 & 5 ft 8 so that size does not look in any way false on me.

HTH.

Sparklegeek · 13/12/2013 17:06

Forgot to say - I also went with Mybreast like Branleuse

ifIsaynodontjustaskdad · 13/12/2013 17:11

How did you decide what size was right for you? I used have very big natural breasts, now I'd quite like them big enough so the wrinkles are all ironed out ?? but I don't want to be jj again because with a 30 rib I would never be able to buy bras

Also with undermuscle ones does that affect your band sizing?

OP posts:
Branleuse · 13/12/2013 17:16

In the consultation, the surgeon brought out different size implants to try in a soft bra, and with a tight top over, to see how they felt and what you liked the look of.

Sparklegeek · 13/12/2013 17:21

No to the band sizing question - I am actually wearing a smaller band size with under-the-muscle ones. I had 480 cc of silicone - on a 30 rib that would be enormous, if you're narrow you'll need way less.

Branleuse · 13/12/2013 17:22

and i had under the muscle as I didnt have much breast tissue.

If you dont have much breast tissue, and there is a lot of excess skin, then you may find they suggest under the muscle with an uplift.

If you have enough breast tissue already, you may be better with over the muscle/sub glandular, and if you have a slightly bigger implant, with an overmuscle placement, you might be able to get away without an uplift.

Branleuse · 13/12/2013 17:26

im a 30 rib and mine dont look enormous. They do look big enough, but it also depends on the rest of your frame. I have big hips and narrow rib cage, and they really dont look enormous.
If i had an athletic build, they probably would have

ifIsaynodontjustaskdad · 13/12/2013 17:31

Also if you get an uplift as well as increase I take it they move your nipples as well - do you loose some sensation I know sometimes you can loose all sensation.

Another embarrassing question what do they feel like undermuscle implants feel ore like real breast tissue or as with overmuscle slightly solid?

OP posts:
ifIsaynodontjustaskdad · 13/12/2013 17:36

Branleuse I think we have similar frames.

Uplift plus undermuscle should by about 7k is that right?

How did your oh feel about you getting it done, I suspect mine will think it a waste of money and be cross for that reason, though probably indifferent to results, I am concerned though about how to explain it to dd

OP posts:
Branleuse · 13/12/2013 17:43

yes they move your nipples. First i lost sensation temporarily, then they were more sensitive than usual, and now id say they were the same as before.

Undermuscle implants definitely feel firmer for a while. Youre feeling muscle under the skin, not fat, so if you feel your arm, its more like that. They will definitely be a lot firmer for the first 6mths to a year, but they will usually soften up over time.
This is a problem for some people, but not others. I personally dont mind. Some people really like the firmness

I think over the muscle ones feel softer and more natural to touch. They also move and jiggle more like natural breasts. Its also a less invasive operation and quicker healing time.
I would have certainly gone for over the muscle if id had enough breast tissue to cover and disguise the implant.

Sparklegeek · 13/12/2013 17:44

My DH was completely utterly against it for years & years. I guess he eventually realised I wasn't going to let it go so it became my Chrsitmas pres that year Smile

He did concede they look good though Grin

Branleuse · 13/12/2013 17:50

my dp was supportive. Id had one child when i met him and my boobs were already quite damaged by my massive size fluctuations with pregnancy and breastfeeding, and i told him quite early on I wanted them done oneday. He was not particularly bothered about me getting them done. He was happy with me the way I was, but he did help me pay for it, once we could afford it, and he admitted afterwards he was surprised by how much he loved my new boobs afterwards.

None of my children even noticed LOL. Not even my ds1 who was 8 or 9 at the time.

Lots of people didnt notice. Youd be surprised. quite a few of my family didnt notice, although said how well i looked, and had i lost weight :)

Mrs Kat is in Birmingham but she's definitely worth travelling for. She did a cracking job of replacing my old implants with smaller ones and uplifting them, am now a very perky 30E.

She gives really thorough consultations so might be worth considering seeing her just to gather information.

Good luck!

lottieandmia · 15/12/2013 13:20

I had implants 7 years ago - I will plan to get them replaced at some point but they're fine right now. I had overs. My bra size is now a 30G. It was one of the best things I ever did and I don't regret it at all. My surgeon was Guy Sterne - I couldn't recommend him enough, he did an excellent job.

I would advise to avoid clinics like Transform and Harley Medical Group because not all of their surgeons are plastic surgeons and some of them work out of the UK for some of the year, so if something goes wrong it can be difficult to get anything done about it. Also, avoid PPI implants of course.

Also agree Sofeminine forum is a great resource.

lottieandmia · 15/12/2013 13:22

oh also I had high profile. They look very natural. Even my parents don't know I had it done.

thefarmerhasawife · 15/12/2013 18:54

Sofacanary - do you mind me asking how much Mrs Kat charges for removal and re insertion please? I had mine done by her 9 years ago and want them replaced with much smaller implants. Thanks!

SofaCanary · 15/12/2013 19:17

They were about £5700 I think, definintely less than 6k anyway.
That was for removal, reinplanting and lollipop lift.

Had 'em done in April at the BMI in Edgbastan...am thrilled with them, they're so pretty!

This is an interesting thread. I too have the post-Breastfeeding thing. I have never considered having surgery though! Is it not really horribly painful? Do you not think you could learn to love your body OP and not subscribe to common views on how women should look? I'm asking these questions genuinely. I know it's a lot of pressure to look a certain way but surgery? Seriously? And of course your daughter will notice. My daughter who's a lot younger notices when someone wears high heels for the first time. They are fine-tuned to these expectations. In my opinion, this is all about men-pleasing. Please tell me I'm wrong!!
