Quality Bras?

So I'm just over the 2months mark and I am feeling great :-)

It took 3-4 weeks for me to gain complete use over my arms again but it was worth it!

I was surviving on two sports bras so the other day I decided it was time to go get measured. I started out as a 34 A - if I was even that, I'm pretty sure I wasn't wearing the correct size.

And now I'm a 32DD. I was shocked to say the least! I had 300CC implants so not the biggest implants you can get. And I had minimal breast tissue.

I got measured at La Senza ( I know you should try and avoid places like this as they tend to measure you to their brand) but I am wearing a 32DD bra and it does fit wonderfully. I am going to get measured again by another place when I can get round to it but at the moment Marks and Sparks 32DD seems to work!

The only problem I now have is choosing quality bras. Now I'm paying for these babies, I want to make sure I take proper care of them.

Can anyone recommend good brands?

Please go to Bravissimo. It's really important to get them fitted properly and have the right support so your results last. You won't get that from anything La Senza fit, or M&S.

Really? Theres no Bravissmo near me! Any other places?

Debenhams, HoF and JL are the best high street alternatives. However, if they measure you under bust and then add inches, run!

Indeed. John Lewis are probably the best of those ime, but it's worth measuring your own underbust firmly so you know roughly what band size to expect. I have a feeling that we might have discussed this before your op and you weren't a 34 in reality but had been fitted with that my muppets inc aka m and s or someone equally useless.

I overheard terrible bra fitting advice from the sales assistant last time I was in John Lewis :(

Read this then measure yourself with a tape measure. You still may have to try on a few things as particularly if you're between sizes it can go either way, but it should give you a much better picture than M&S, La Senza etc.

Thanks guys! Bra shopping is hard, way too stressful!

I just really want to get my size right :-) although I have a feeling I will be in between sizes!

Follow the guide pootlebug linked to and post your measurements up and we'll tell you where to start. You might find you need to adjust a bit from there and be quite selective about styles as implants have a different shape in that they are generally more 'upfront' so some bras just won't work properly.

Whip out a tape measure though and we'll see what you actually are.
