They don't work, other than a transitory plumping/tightening effect (bit like egg white does).

Don't spend more than you readily have and enjoy spending on something that smells nice.

The only thing that DOES work- products containing retinol.

They can burn the skin if you use it too often (that's one if the ways it works, it's lije a mild chemical peel).

There are interesting studies about retinol reducing uv damage, sun spots and lowering the risk of skin cancers on previously sun damaged skin. I think it has some effect on scarring too.

I use a retinol cream a couple of times a week (my skin is super sensitive to it), IMO, with very good results as after about 10 years my skin looks fab for mid forties!

Usually RoC Retinol, (they do day and night creams), its about £17 a tube but even for daily use, you need only a small amount.

Aldi does (or did) a retinol /retin-A containing cream, cheaper and is say not as strong as it doesn't burn so much, great on hands and face as a daily thing.

When I say burns, for most people it pinks up the skin a bit when you first use it, for me it does actually sting and peel if used daily (the stronger stuff), but the skin looks great and fresh!

I'd advise you to use sparingly once a day and see how your skin reacts to it, if you want to try it.
