Bit of eyebrow help, please

I'm trying to re-grow the middle of my eyebrows after seriously overplucking them & then being too Blush to put up with the regrowth.

Atm they're a bit patchy but getting there. I do want them shaped before Christmas though....do you think getting them threaded is a good idea? Or I should just leave well alone?

& do you happen to know of any miracles in a bottle that might make them grow a bit faster?

I'd say don't pluck, but get yourself a little eyebrow kit such as this one www.superdrug.com/eye-make-up/beauty-uk-hi-brow-kit-multi/invt/684254&bklist= to fill in the patchy bits.

Buzzardisnotina4birdroast · 10/12/2013 13:36

Avon do a eyebrow filler which has little filaments in it to help cover patchy eyebrows.

MrsLettuce · 10/12/2013 13:46

yy, get them shaped and trimmed but explain about the bit you're regrowing and get them to leave it alone.
Once the basic shape is sorted fill in with a nicely matched, matte, brow powder and a decent quality brush. Use and old, clean mascara wand to brush through after. Et voila.

Right ty, I'm going to leave them alone until next Thursday which is the last day I'll have any peace to get them threaded. will get her to just shape them with what's there & leave the growing-out bit well alone for the mo.

Will have a look at the MUA kit and on avon website later & keep my mascara wand when I replace my mascara tomorrow.

Thanks very much (I just hope they keep growing back now Confused )

Sorry, I saw Superdrug - assumed MUA Grin (never seen that brand so will have to have a mooch and see what else they do)

MUA in Superdrug do a kit that's almost the same.

geologygirl · 10/12/2013 21:14

Benefit do a fab brow service. The tint is great and the brow zings pack is good. I hear that massaging with
Olive oil speeds up growth....never tried it though!

LittleBabyPigsus · 10/12/2013 21:16

Would second MrsLettuce's advice, plus are you using an eyebrow serum to help the regrowth? Try this (especially since it's on sale!).

lucysmam · 10/12/2013 21:32

Nope, not been using a serum....I shall invest over the weekend.

Hopefully having them shaped (have left it about 6 weeks so far to give them chance to grow) will stop me being tempted to reach for the tweezers. they're driving me nuts Confused

Benefit is a tad out of my budget usually but I'll see if any of their brow stuff is in Christmas gift sets then dp could buy for me Grin

I've been using castor oil on a sparce bit for a few months and it's made a big difference.

lucysmam · 10/12/2013 21:41

hmmm, I have neither olive or castor oil - will pick up a small bottle of olive tomorrow morning & see if that helps before I splash out on serum

The serums do work (I got some eyelash and eyebrow serum in January) but they do take a while (IME three months)
I haven't replaced them and because hair grows on a cycle, the results have diminished. You do need to keep up with them Hmm

My eyebrows were brilliant (as were my eyelashes which are normally a bit rubbishy)

But they 've gone a bit meh again , I haven't used it since about August.

LittleBabyPigsus · 10/12/2013 22:57

Castor oil is very good for lashes and brows. Olive oil is good at conditioning but not strengthening IYSWIM. Pharmacies should do castor oil.

Funny, I've been looking at brow kits for my mum. The MUA one seems to be sold out everywhere.

The W7 one is easy to get on ebay and amazon and is cheap. I haven't tried it myself, but it has good reviews. The only reason why I didn't get it, is because it doesn't come with a wax and my mum really needs one, but if your eyebrows are not like crazy werewolf brows it looks like it might be a good bet:

www.amazon.co.uk/W7-Brow-Bar-Eyebrow-Stencil/dp/B008QV09S8

Also, also, Boots 17 are doing an LE one for £6 - but it comes as a free gift if you spend £8 on 17 products:

I'm annoyed with the lack of brow choices! I used to do pencil + clear mascara gel, but that seems hard to get now. They're all white and crusty and gross.

evelynj · 11/12/2013 15:08

I just tried a gosh brow pencil that was like a felt tip today & loved it. About £6.49 IIRC

killedanotherthread · 11/12/2013 15:46

I can recommend the Maybelline Brow Drama mascara-type thing, in dark brown. Very easy to use.

singaporeswing · 12/12/2013 06:01

lookatmybutt I use this which is pencil on one end and clear gel on the other.
