Having my HoC colours done on Saturday and I have JUST had my hair dyed an improbable shade!

I know that they don't consider your hair colour, but I had my hair dyed last night by a vg hairdresser. She told me to lighten my hair so I had more blonde streaks put it, but it looks to me slightly on the brassy side (she is a vg hairdresser usually and swears it will lighten after a wash).

Will the HoC lady tell me straight if my hair's too pale for my skin? My hair is v v dark but going grey, hence the streaks to blend in the grey, then my eyes are blue on the outside and yellow in the middle.

Skin is v pale Celtic complexion.

I'm excited, anyone want to predict what I'll turn out as?

She'll tell you if the colour works with your skintone, and it doesn't matter too much anyway as she'll cover your hair while she's working out your colours.

Btw if you still feel your hair's too brassy after a few washes, the Aveda colour shampoos and conditioners are totally brilliant for sorting that out.

Enjoy!

During my analysis I had my hair covered. I'm a Winter and she told me to get all the warmth taken out (it was medium brown with a very slight hint of red). I went to the salon a few days later and had it dyed a cool, darker shade and I've had loads of compliments.

Same here Sorrel - I had highlights in my dark ash brown hair because I thought it needed 'brightening up', but she said it was totally wrong. I dyed over them and have loads of compliments on my hair now. Funnily enough, people are always asking me if I've dyed it, presumably because they were used to me with highlights, when it's actually my natural colour now!

Yup - hair won't matter. I'll guess winter (for fun - because of the celtic skin and dark hair/blue eyes) but can't really even guess without the draping...

She might talk to you about the contrast with your hair in terms of your skin too - in short, the brighter seasons (Spring and Winter) look better without breaking up and softening their hair colour too much, as it takes away from their natural brightness/contrast, whereas Summers and Autumns are great with hair that's a real mix of colours.

That's really interesting, Hopefully. We need you on each of the season colour threads! But I suppose you need a life too Grin
