I am looking for some warmer leggings.

I saw velvet touch ones at Primark but wanted to ask if any one had tried them.

Or are thee any other warm legging you would recommend. Like fleece line ones.

I LOVE my fleece lined leggings - although only wear them in the house or under jeans for warmth! Toastie and fab - go for it!

gaggiagirl · 06/12/2013 19:49

I've got some fleece lined leggings from primark they are very warm. Go for it.

chipsandpeas · 06/12/2013 21:21

i love the primark one, havent tried any others tho

GobblersKnob · 06/12/2013 21:38

The primark fleece lined are great, haven't tried the velvet though am tempted.

ClenchingPanda · 06/12/2013 21:57

Watching with interest as I have been considering a pair of fleece lined leggings, but held back as I assumed they'd be a one way ticket to thrush-ville.

CointreauVersial · 06/12/2013 22:03

DD1 has the ones with the thick fleecy lining and says they are the business. TBH I'm just delighted she's not wearing those slightly transparent leggings that show your arse like most of the girls her age seem to be. Grin

Primark velvet touch leggings are horrendous! Such a good idea, I was so excited to get home and put them on but one wear later and they were in the bin.

mirpuppet · 07/12/2013 07:57

Thanks all.

Lackingimagination why did you have to bin?

Any brand of fleece lined leggings that anyone would recommended?

They were so ill fitting - the waist line came up to my boobs and any movement caused them to twist round and the crotch fall down. They also pick up SO much lint and look like you've got a pair of dirty leggings on. I can spot anyone wearing them a mile off!

I currently do tights underneath leggings (if it's really cold then fleecy tights underneath). I am waiting with baited breath for someone to come and tell us where we can get some Smile

GobblersKnob · 07/12/2013 14:32

Agree, they do come up high, but I like that, they keep my tummy warm Grin

No issues with twisting or falling down though. Also how do they pick up fluff and stuff? They are super smooth, I haven't noticed that with mine at all, and I am a crap at hoovering and have a dog!

lackingimagination · 07/12/2013 15:27

Gobblers I was referring to the velvet lines ones which you haven't tried! Primark fleece ones are fab Smile

alltoomuchrightnow · 07/12/2013 15:30

if you're tall, no way. all the leggings i've got from there , the crotch comes to my knees.. big mistake... buying because i wanted to avoid the queues..

mirpuppet · 07/12/2013 17:13

I didn't see any fleece lined leggings in Primark -- think they may have been replaced with the velvet touch leggings.

Have had problem in past that Primark tights keep falling down -- one of reasons I'm looking at leggings. My leggings (from Boden) stay up. I just want them to be warmer.

I bought some fleece lined and the velvet ones for DD (she wears tights/leggings under a skater skirt or denim shorts)

The velvet ones (IIRC) had a really ugly seam down the front and under the crotch.
Fine if you're wearing like she does but not if you want 'trouser' leggings.

cerealqueen · 07/12/2013 21:05

I have some fleece lined leggings, I wear them with a denim mini, they are quite toasty.
I also have some M&S Heatgen leggings which I wear under jeans/jeggings.

I bought mine from Ebay, I think Amazon have them too, quite cheap too.

GoldenSilence · 07/12/2013 21:09

I've got the velvet primark ones on right now, I do fold the top down though, but apart from that they're great - really warm and comfy, don't fall down for me either.

1gglePiggle · 07/12/2013 21:21

I've got the velvet ones, they are lovely and cosy. They do come up high on the waist but not much of an issue.
The fleece lined ones are called super cosy in the tights section. They do tights or footless tights. I live in mine Grin

mirpuppet · 07/12/2013 23:00

Thank you. I will look for super cosy.

How is the fit of the fleece-lined ones compared to the regular £3 Primark leggings? I am a size 22-24 but can wear the normal leggings in a size 20 just fine (and they're not see-through either) due to short legs. Will the fleecey ones in a size 20 be OK do you think?

GobblersKnob · 08/12/2013 14:00

I have the Primark 200 denier as wall and find the fit is similar in the fleece ones LittleBabyPigsus.

LittleBabyPigsus · 08/12/2013 18:33

Cheers GobblersKnob.

Duffie93 · 16/12/2017 00:27

I bought the l-xl, I'm a size 10 and they squeeze my waist, I got the large ones because I'm tall and I needed the length.
The sizes are so small!
But for a short while they're comfy, but after 10 hours or eating in them they can feel comfortable straining and leave red bands around your waist.

I do love them purely for their warmth but I honestly am disgusted with the sizing. A size 10 should not be squeezed by a pair of l-xl leggings. Smh.

Duffie93 · 16/12/2017 00:34

I'm referring to the fleece lined leggings.

BonfiresOfInsanity · 16/12/2017 06:48

I bought these for my 13yo DS who plays hockey. I didn’t tell him that they were women’s leggings from Primark just ‘look at those lovely warm leggings I got you for training!’ Anyway, he loves them and also wore them under his trousers when out in the snow last weekend. So a thumbs up here! He’s 5’6” and I got him the L/XL ones which fit him. I’m 5’10” and a size 14-16 so not sure what size I would need. Hmm
