Please can you tell me where you bought your DDs winter coat from?

I'm after a not too girly puffa jacket if possible but open to other styles as long as they are very warm.

If you can be bothered to link that'd be great, thankyou Smile

Just to add the Monsoon sizing is quite small. My DD's are just 6 & 7.5 and they are both wearing age 9 to 10 coats. DD2 is quite tall for her age though.

My two DDs have one of these each. They say it's very warm and snuggly, washes well, and looks nice too....www.marksandspencer.com/Hooded-Layered-Sleeve-Parka-Stormwear/dp/B002XGLQES?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_20&nodeId=44217030&sr=1-20&qid=1386153615

Just bought this for my dd. it's great quality, lovely and cosy and fleeced lined, does right up to the chin so no need to wear a scarf and is machine washable. They have it in size 4-5yrs too

Polarn O Pyret - we have the padded jackets and they are very, very warm and very good quality. Not cheap, but lovely.

Lands End coats are fantastic, my younger two have the 4 in 1 parkers which they no longer sell online but I got them in a Lands End outlet.

My older DD had a Regatta 3 in 1.

A lands end down coat is half price today!!! £14.95!

here

Get the Lands End one, that's a bargain!

My dd is 7, and we've had these for the last few years. The first one lasted two winters and I've bought a new one this winter. I love that they're longer, no gaps. Maybe a bit girly though, but you can put the hearts on the inside.

Previously I've bought her Peter Storm ones from Millets, with the waterproof outer and the removeable fleece. They're good value. I also like the Trespass ones, but one I bought recently for ds seemed for plasticy than the Peter Storm ones. I ended up returning it.

Boden are always good, and if the girls ones are too girly then look at the boys. Very unisex imo.

I've bought the Lands End one now!

DavenotChas · 04/12/2013 15:57

Bundaberg My little girl had the functional jacket last year and it's still going strong (despite being washed almost weekly it is still pretty waterproof) Fancied a bit of a change for her though, and thank to your discount she is now the proud owner of thislittle beauty

Thanks

If it's not too babyish we have a 3 in 1 jacket from jojo maman. Inner is a fleece lined reversible waterproofs clips into a thinner outer mac waterproof. The hood is great again fleece lined and buttons close round the face. The sleeves have clips for mittens which can be bought to match. I have the blue one with a flower lining. Nice mot too girly and standing up well to wet cold Scotland. Not cheap but. I'll get at least one full years wear put of it. you need s light windproof all summer and w s bit of luc k she'll wear it next year too,!

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 04/12/2013 20:31

Landsend are fab dd has the star one.

I was pleasantly surprised at sports direct offerings too. Ski type very warm jackets for £20-30.. They had the ones with removable fleece for warmer weather too.

MeMyElfandI · 04/12/2013 21:27

Really like the look of the Lands End ones. I have never bought from them before, do they come up big or small. Normally buy Boden, Joules or Gap.

Pancakeflipper · 04/12/2013 21:33

I found the boys one I bought was quite big ( bigger than Boden IMO). I got one for a 5yr old. My DS is just 5 and it looks long enough to do next Autumn!

BornToFolk · 04/12/2013 21:35

I find Lands End fairly true to size. DS's coat is 7-8. He's 6 but big for his age.

Wingdingdong · 04/12/2013 21:45

Another vote for Boden. DD (also 4) has the fleece-lined anorak and the 2-in-1 padded coat. DS (1) has the fleece-lined anorak. They're apparently very comfortable (DD refused to have one from another shop, wanting the same as last year's...), very warm, come in bright colours so that you can spot them easily and most importantly, wash and dry well. DD has two coats because they are frequently in the wash. For some reason she doesn't take her coat off to eat lunch at school Angry

madwomanacrosstheroad · 04/12/2013 21:49

H&m is usually grear. They are made for a scandinavian and continental market so really warm.
