Can anyone recommend a good manicure set for a teenager?

14 yo DD would like a manicure set that must include nail clippers - has anyone seen any nice ones please? (either online or High St)

The ones I've seen look either cheap and nasty (flimsy tools in a plastic tub) or a bit grown-up/boring (brown leather zip-up style type of thing).

Is the Cath Kidston one any good for example ?

I agree with MaryShelley and make sure she has a Leighton Denny crystal nail file and pop some cheap but trendy sparkly polishes and a seche vite topcoat. I wouldn't bother with nail treatments as she'll use them once then get bored.

I got my DD one like this (but a different colour) when she was about 11 - she's nearly 15 now and uses it regularly (except that mysterious double ended thing - WTF is it for? - I've never known) - and she's still got all the tools and hasn't broken it so that's proof of its robustness! Grin

My stepmum bought my sister one from Studio 24, used to be called Studio Cards I believe Smile

The only problem with buying the bits myself is I haven't a clue about nail bits and bobs - I don't do anything to my nails other than cut them (and paint toe nails in the summer) - I can't even use a file or emery board as it gives me the willies .

The little zip up sets in Shargaff's post look like the sort of thing I was imagining. Errol's one is probably a bit 'bling' (that would be DD's description anyway!) Smile

It's bling by my and DD's tastes too, TBH, but it's actually turned out to be extremely practical - less fiddly to put the tools away than most cases.
