Supportive work shoes for my 19 yo cashier DD - Any recommendatons?

Hi S&B

DD 19 is beginning a job as a cashier next week, where she will have to be on her feet for 7.5 hours a day. She is not a practical girl and all her shoes are either stupidly high heels or dolly shoes. I know her feet will be aching her as she has also decided to walk the 1.5 mile journey there and back so I want to buy her some supportive thick shoes that will ease the aching.

They must be black and she is a size 7.

Thanks in advance

x

Take her to Clarks? Various styles of comfortable shoe, if they fit well of course.

^I would walk that distance in all of these, if the fit was right.

Sorry didn't select the black option for links. But I think they have black colour-ways.

Though is she really going to wear what you buy her (just that I was v awkward at that age!)

I have a pair of the Clarks Hamble Oak and can vouch for the fact that they are extremely comfortable. They contain little spongy bits inside the sole to cushion the foot which is fab.

Hamble Oaks look good, might get a pair myself.

I've ordered the black leather wedges for her, thank you MN

Ecco are expensive but extremely comfortable.

shoes will last longer if she takes a different pair to work - that way she isn't splashing through rain and snow in the expensive pair. She can walk there in trainers or similar.

Have you had a look at Nisbets?

They sell footwear for the catering industry but a nurse friend of mine swears by their shoes.
