Horse-riding gear in Tescos

Or is this just a rumour? My friend's sister thinks they have started to stock cheap riding stuff incl hats. Anyone seen any? DD has just been riding a few months and don't want to splash out loads of cash just yet. TIA

Yes, can comfirm here too that Tescos do horse ridding stuff but as said its in the bigger ones .

They did have riding gear but I think it might have beeen a one off and there may not be anything in store now. To be honest the prices weren't much different to what you would pay in a saddlery. The one thing I will say is that it's important to get a hat properly fitted.

I saw the hats in our tesco extra they were £17.99

Thanks! Am going to my mum's soon in Newcastle and am sure they have a Tescos extra somewhere near her so will check it out. It is mainly for the hat TBH - dd's friend fell for the first time last week and it brought it home to us how important it is to have a properly fitting hat - the ones the girls borrow from the stables are very hit and miss.

A hat from tesco's will not be correctly fitted, I would advise you to go to a proper saddlery and purchase. It will cost you more but will be worth it's weight, coming from someone who has been riding for 25 years and has had numerous falls.

oxocube · 15/07/2006 09:27

thanks pedilia. Is that true even if I measure her correctly (have looked at a website which gives measuring/fitting instructions etc) ? I know nothing about horseriding btw so all comments welcome. The saddlery prices seem to start from about 30 quid

It was just a promotion they were doing - no longer there in our tesco extra, much to the disappointment of my 14 year old sis!
