I used to temp nanny for an ultra-cool mother...she and her now 2 yr old daughter looked like they stepped out of Milan. The momma would rather die than dress her little one in anything other than designer clothing, so materialistic I know, but now little tot's birthday is coming up and mother has requested clothes as tot has loads of toys!

Sooo, I have chosen these 3 items from Oilily and was hoping you stylish m'netters can give me your approval!

Here is the link...Potential B'day Pressies!!!

The pink dress is OK but don't like the denim - that's a personal thing though, I don't really like denim stuff on littlies.

What about Boden stuff? Gorgeous girlie stuff in there.

expatinscotland · 14/07/2006 21:56

I can't see it

Beauregard · 14/07/2006 21:56

lovely especially the pink dress.

LiliLaTigresse · 14/07/2006 21:57

don't really like any of them, but the pink dress is the best IMO

expatinscotland · 14/07/2006 21:57

the pink dress is nice.

i find designer on children gauche and bourgeois myself, however.

ninah · 14/07/2006 21:58

dress is good, not the denim

ninah · 14/07/2006 21:58

pmsl expat

Bozza · 14/07/2006 21:59

personally not keen on the pink dress. Prefer the denim dress in the middle. I tink you are being very thoughtful and considerate mind you.

Twiglett · 14/07/2006 22:03

don't like any tbh ... but I'm not stylish

FrannyandZooey · 14/07/2006 22:04

I like the pink one best. Not mad keen on any of them - I thought Oilily stuff was very unusual and colourful?

Twiglett · 14/07/2006 22:06

this is quite sweet

Twiglett · 14/07/2006 22:08

bloody hell would you just look at those prices

£45 for a skirt

WestCountryLass · 14/07/2006 22:45

I don't spend that on skirts for myself, let alone a baby

I would buy the little girl a book, not very fun jsut opening clothes on your birthday when you are 2 imo.

NannyStar · 15/07/2006 10:11

Thank you for all your comments...I agree completely with you expat...I too find a 2, almost 3 yr old wearing designer clothes 'gauche and bourgeois'. I don't really like to say negative things about any of the families I worked for as that would be unprofessional, but this woman was so snobby it was a nightmare to work for her, but the little girl, gosh it wasn't her fault so I stayed for her sake.

Now my last family..........they were fabulous! I was quite shocked when I pulled up at this very modest looking houses because all my other host families houses have been like huge country retreats but this was normal and u know what, they were the nicest family I could ever hoped for. Single dad always sent me out to buy the childrens clothes and Peacocks, George @ Asda, Tesco's and Adams have some really lovely things....much nicer than the tacky looking rubbish the kiddies designers produce. I'm going to do what 'west country lass' said and buy the little girl a book and maybe a disney DVD ) Her mother will hate me for the rest of time for buying her daughter 'a load of cheap crap', but ah well!!!

I think your right on buying the little girl a book and a dvd it would probably be much more appreciated than clothes! Anyway summer is nearly over so what the point? A book and a dvd are always a winner!

beansontoast · 15/07/2006 19:58

yes you are stylish twig...oh so modest

southeastastra · 15/07/2006 19:59
