Crepey skin under my eyes - help me choose a product to help?

I'm 34, too busy and not enough sleep. Eat well but drink too much caffeine to get me through the day.

My skin is mostly good, if a bit tired looking (like the rest of me) but under my eyes, in the inner corner, the skin looks thin and papery. Not a good look!

Is there any product to fix this? Needs to be relatively affordable. I'm sure Clinique/Clarins do something but I can't afford it! Anything from L'Oréal or that type of price range?

Ps. Not the aldi one, it brought me out in spots :-(

Sorry can't help but feel your pain and watching in intrest, I'm also 34 and suddenly noticed this week how bloody old I'm starting to look around the eyes, GUTTED, I also have papery eyes and lines

I find the clinique eye cream (rich) helps and also those stick on patches (you leave on for 20 mins) from holland and barrett are great Smile

Drink more water. Products cannot help anyone except the people who profit from their sale. It is time women stopped falling fir this crap.

daphnesglasses · 26/11/2013 23:21

eek sorry just realised you said not clinique Blush
the holland & barrett ones are about £6 IIRC - for 3 lots maybe? not for every day but good for a special occasion & you can leave on overnight which I haven't done but I think would be good - results last a few days on me after 20 mins

daphnesglasses · 26/11/2013 23:21

also use gentle eye make up remover not a harsh one

Carole Maggio face exercises would prob help. I do one where you lift your lower eyelid (using the lower eye muscle, that is, not your fingers!), look upwards for a count of 60. The idea is that you build up the undereye muscle so it holds the skin tauter.

I've done this for a while, problem is I don't know how I would look if I hadn't done it. But the idea seems feasible.

Thanks all, I don't drink alcohol so can't cut that out, but I can increase how much water I drink. I have much to much caffeine, it gets me through the busy days sometimes.

I had a look at all the lotions and potions in Boots tonight, they all claim to be great but I have no idea whether I want collagen boosting or retinol or pro-retinol or plant extracts or hydraularonic acid...... Impossible!

Can I recommend something? The Olay Regenerist Night elixir (I think!) contains glycolic acid, which essentially exfoliates the skin. This will help with fine lines and give you an overall glow, with luck! I recently got some and it's pretty good but I've had to reduce use from every night to every couple of nights because my skin is quite sensitive.

I always recommend Avene Eluage (also from Boots) which is a form of retinol that helps with fine lines.

Water. Cut down/out alcohol. A silk pillowcase, especially if you're a "burrower" at night. Avon 2 part eye cream.
