Alternative to Estee Lauder double wear for someone with cystic acne

I have been a devotee of double wear for years, but having read the threads on here about it have been looking at myself more and more in mirrors as the day goes on. The foundation is sitting in my lines and creases and looks like a mask rather than soft ad blended in which I 'm sure it does when I first put it on. I look sort of caked in dry make up half way through the day.

The problem I have is I get cystic acne and have some HUGE spots when it comes up and a lot of redness and scaring. Double wear has always done a good job of covering these up and evening my skin tone out without my needing to use concealer. But I can't go around looking like I do for much longer, my last bottle is about to run out so will be buying something else.

I can't afford an expensive mistake though,I will have to use whatever I buy, so please help me with some recommendations.

Are you me ?

Wore Double Wear for about 10yrs + and then recently caught sight of myself in daylight and thought "wtf?!"

I've just started using Revlon Colourstay, which is supposed to be a cheaper version of DW. On me it doesn't look anywhere as cakey, the coverage is not quite as full (but I think that's what makes DW sit in the lines tbh) and with an oil free moisturizer and primer its lasted the best part of the day for me.

Do you have a large Boots or department store near you ? If so you should be able to get samples from Lancôme (try Teint Idole Ultra - I couldn't get the right shade) Clarins (Everlasting - oxidized a bit on me and changed colour) and Dior (Forever - also changed colour). They're all touted as being that brands answer to DW so you might find something to suit. I think I have crazy skin as I seem to change the colour of a lot of foundation once they're on for a few hours.

I started a thread on here about finding a good oil free foundation and there have been loads of useful suggestions, will try to link it for you.
